Starchild is the sixth studio album by American R&B singer Teena Marie, released on November 11, 1984, by Epic Records. Following the relative commercial failure of her previous album, Robbery, Starchild became the highest-selling album of Marie's career. It peaked at #9 on the US Black Albums chart and #31 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on April 1, 1985.
Man Alive! is the 8th studio album by Stephen Stills, released in 2005. It is a mixture of old and new recordings. Some were dated in the notes of the box set Carry On as follows: "Ain't It Always" from December 1976, "Spanish Suite" from April 1979 during the sessions of his unfinished 1979 album, "Feed the People" from 1989 but with everything but the backing vocals replaced later, and "I Don't Get It" in 1991. Zimmer's biography of Crosby, Stills & Nash places "Acadienne" with songs for the CSNY Looking Forward album, and based on the personnel it is from April 1998. Dates of the others are unknown. "Drivin' Thunder" appeared the CSNY album American Dream in 1988, but Stills wrote new lyrics for the version on this album. Stills introduced "Heart's Gate" as a new song in concert in 2003. Graham Nash sings on "Acadienne", "Feed the People", and "Wounded World", which he co-wrote. Neil Young plays on "Different Man" and "Round the Bend", while Herbie Hancock plays on "Spanish Suite". Stills drew the back and front cover.

The album's title Vocalese refers to a style of music that sets lyrics to previously recorded jazz instrumental pieces. The vocals then reproduce the sound and feel of the original instrumentation. Jon Hendricks, proficient in this art, composed all of the lyrics for this album.

This proved to be one of the band's more successful releases, yielding several R&B hits, such as "Freak-A-Ristic," "If Your Heart Isn't In It", and the smash quiet storm anthem "Secret Lovers." This would be the band's last release for A&M after a memorable, although inconsistent, run of hits throughout the early 80's.

The Rides are an American blues supergroup, featuring guitarists Stephen Stills and Kenny Wayne Shepherd and keyboardist Barry Goldberg. The group formed in 2013 following a performance by the trio at a benefit led by Stills. Stills called the band “the blues band of my dreams”. The band toured in support of their debut album Can't Get Enough in fall 2013 backed by bassist Kevin McCormick and Shepherd's longtime drummer Chris Layton. Their second album Pierced Arrow followed in 2016; it peaked at number one in the Billboard Top Blues Albums Chart.
