Biography
Pratt was born in Monterrey, Mexico to Mormon parents. His family later moved to Colonia Dublán. In 1947, the family moved to Lehi, Arizona. From 1961 to 1963 Pratt served a church mission in Argentina. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and a law degree from Arizona State University.
Monterrey is the capital and largest city of the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico. The city is anchor to the third-largest metropolitan area in Mexico and is the country's ninth-largest city. Monterrey serves as a commercial center of northern Mexico and is the base of many significant international corporations.

Colonia Dublán began as a Mormon colony, located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. It is now a part of Nuevo Casas Grandes Municipality. It is one of the few surviving Mormon colonies in Mexico.
In 1968, Pratt baptized Karen Ann Yeoman, who he had known for several years. She was a graduate of Arizona State who had taken institute classes there with Rhett James. In 1969, Pratt married Yeoman in the Mesa Arizona Temple and they are the parents of eight children.
The Church Educational System (CES) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints consists of several institutions that provide religious and secular education for both Latter-day Saint and non–Latter-day Saint elementary, secondary, and post-secondary students and adult learners. Approximately 700,000 individuals were enrolled in CES programs in 143 countries in 2011. CES courses of study are separate and distinct from religious instruction provided through wards. Kim B. Clark, a member of the First Quorum of Seventy, has been the CES Commissioner since August 1, 2015.
The Mesa Arizona Temple is the seventh operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located in the city of Mesa, Arizona, it is the first of six LDS temples built or planned in the state.
In 1971 and 1972 Pratt was a law clerk for David Thomas Lewis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Pratt worked for the Salt Lake City law firm of Kirton and McConkie. In this position, he worked as an attorney for the LDS Church. He was employed as general counsel for the church in the South America North Area of the church at the time of his call as a general authority.

Salt Lake City is the capital and the most populous municipality of the U.S. state of Utah. With an estimated population of 190,884 in 2014, the city is the core of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, which has a population of 1,153,340. Salt Lake City is further situated within a larger metropolis known as the Salt Lake City–Ogden–Provo Combined Statistical Area. From 1985 to 1988 Pratt served as a regional representative in Ecuador. From July 1988 to July 1991 he served as president of the church's Spain Seville Mission. From 1995 to 1997, Pratt was an area seventy. In 1997, he was called as a member of the church's First Quorum of the Seventy.
Ecuador, officially the Republic of Ecuador, is a country in northwestern South America, bordered by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Ecuador also includes the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific, about 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) west of the mainland. The capital city is Quito and the largest city as well.
Mission president is a priesthood leadership position in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A mission president presides over a mission and the missionaries serving in the mission. Depending on the particular mission, a mission president may also be the presiding priesthood leader of some or all Latter-day Saints within the geographic boundaries of the mission. Mission presidents are ordained high priests of the church.
Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain(Spanish: Reino de España), is a country mostly located on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe. Its territory also includes two archipelagoes: the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa, and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The African enclaves of Ceuta, Melilla, and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera make Spain the only European country to have a physical border with an African country (Morocco). Pratt served as president of the South America North Area of the church, with Benjamin de Hoyos and Rafael E. Pino as his counselors.
On October 1, 2011, Pratt was released from the First Quorum of the Seventy and designated as an emeritus general authority at the LDS Church's semi-annual general conference. [1] He later served as president of the Mexico Missionary Training Center, where he oversaw its relocation and expansion in the summer of 2013. [2] [3]
