Carmen Eloisa Alguindigue Morles is a Venezuelan professor and activist. In 2019,she was appointed by the National Assembly as Venezuelan ambassador to Andorra. By 2022,she was one of four Venezuelan lawyers accredited to the International Criminal Court.
Carmen Alguindingue has served as prosecution director at the Public Ministry and as a professor, [1] as well as a human rights defender at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and the Metropolitan University. In 2014,she actively participated in the defense of students detained during the nationwide protests that year. [2]
During Venezuelan presidential crisis,in 2019,she was appointed by the National Assembly as Venezuela's ambassador to Andorra. [3] That same year,officers of the Special Actions Forces (FAES) raided her home. [2]
By 2022,she was one of four Venezuelan lawyers accredited to the International Criminal Court. [4]
The Supreme Justice Tribunal is the highest court of law in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and is the head of the judicial branch. As the independence of the Venezuelan judiciary under the regime of Nicolás Maduro is questioned,there have recently been many disputes as to whether this court is legitimate.
Luisa Marvelia Ortega Díaz is a Venezuelan lawyer. Between December 2007 and August 2017,she served as the Prosecutor General of Venezuela. A proponent of the Chavismo ideology,Ortega Díaz was fired as Prosecutor General on 5 August 2017 by the Supreme Tribunal of Justice and the Constituent National Assembly (ANC) promoted by Nicolás Maduro,following a breaking with the Maduro government as a result of the 2017 Venezuelan constitutional crisis in the context of the crisis in Venezuela. This dismissal was rejected by the opposition-led National Assembly of Venezuela,arguing that only that institution had the power to carry out said removal according to the Constitution,and cataloging the Prosecutor as the only legitimate authority of the Public Ministry. As a result,she is called by the National Assembly,the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela in exile and some media outlets as the Prosecutor General of Venezuela in exile.
Carmen Teresa Meléndez Rivas is a Venezuelan politician and Navy admiral. She was Minister of Interior and Justice from 25 October 2014 to 9 March 2015,and chief of staff in President Nicolás Maduro's cabinet for nearly six months from March to September 2015. After a governorship in Lara (2017–2020),she headed the Interior Ministry for the second time,from October 2020 to August 2021.
Tamara Adrián is a Venezuelan politician,who was elected to the National Assembly of Venezuela in the 2015 Venezuelan parliamentary election. She is noted as the first transgender person elected to office in Venezuela,and only the second transgender member of a national legislature in the Western Hemisphere. The Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela (TSJ) in exile is an institution that some,including the Organization of American States,consider to be the legitimate highest court of law in Venezuela and the head of the judicial branch,as opposed to the Supreme Tribunal of Justice. It was established on 21 July 2017 following the 2017 Venezuelan constitutional crisis. The TSJ's 33 members have been based in Chile,Colombia,Panama,and the United States due to the political crisis in Venezuela.
Juan Gerardo GuaidóMárquez is a Venezuelan opposition politician. He belonged to the social-democratic party Popular Will,and was a federal deputy to the National Assembly representing the state of Vargas. On 23 January 2019,Guaidóand the National Assembly declared that he was acting president of Venezuela,starting the Venezuelan presidential crisis by challenging Nicolás Maduro's presidency. In December 2022,opposition parties voted to dismiss Guaidóas interim president,choosing Dinorah Figuera as a successor on 5 January 2023 and ending Guaidó's presidential claim.

The Constitutional Law Against Hatred,for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance,also known simply as the Law Against Hatred,is a law passed unanimously by the Venezuelan Constituent National Assembly and published in Gaceta Oficial 41,274 on 8 November 2017.
A preliminary examination by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to analyze possible crimes against humanity committed in Venezuela is currently open. A preliminary examination was previously opened in 2006,but closed after concluding that the requirements to start an investigation had not been met. In February 2018,the ICC announced that it would open preliminary probes into alleged crimes against humanity performed by Venezuelan authorities since at least April 2017. In 2020,the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC stated that it believed there was a "reasonable basis" to believe that "since at least April 2017,civilian authorities,members of the armed forces and pro-government individuals have committed the crimes against humanity",and on 2021 ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan announced the opening of an investigation regarding the situation in the country.
