Carmen Rischer (born 16 May 1956 in Schwerte) [1] is an individual rhythmic gymnast. She was the 1975 World all-around champion. [2] She also won the bronze medal in hoop at the 1980 European Championships in Amsterdam.
Rischer began taking ballet lessons at age five because she was sickly as a toddler and her doctor advised that her posture might become permanently damaged because of her illness. Her gymnastics talent was discovered in 1971. [1]
Internationally, she competed at the 1973 World Championships, finishing 21st in the all-around. At the 1975 championships in Madrid, the rhythmic gymnasts from the Soviet Union, Bulgaria and East Germany were absent. In their absence, Rischer and teammate Christiana Rosenberg dominated the competition. Rischer won the all-around title ahead of Rosenberg; she also won the gold medals in hoop and ribbon and a silver medal for clubs.
In 1977, she was invited to an international competition in Canada, but due to an injury, she could not compete. [3] At the 1977 World Championships, she finished 6th in the all-around and ball finals and won silver in the ribbon final.
At the first Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in 1978, she tied for fourth place with Daniela Bošanská. [4] Rischer competed in the 1979 World Championships and was 7th in the all-around; she also competed in three apparatus finals.
She was again fourth place in the all-around at the 1980 European Championships, and she also won a bronze medal in the hoop final. [5] In 1981, she competed at the first international rhythmic gymnastics meet held in the United States. She won the all-around event and ribbon finals and was bronze in the hoop final. [6] At her last World Championships in 1981, she was sixth in the all-around and competed in all four apparatus finals.
Kateryna Serebrianska is a Ukrainian former individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 1996 Olympics gold medalist, the 1995 World All-around champion, a two time (1995,1996) European All-around champion, and three time Grand Prix Final All-around champion.
Melitina Dmitryevna Staniouta is a Belarusian retired individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a three-time World all-around bronze medalist, the 2015 European Games all-around bronze medalist, the 2014 European Championships all-around silver medalist, and 2009 Grand Prix Final all-around bronze medalist.
Son Yeon Jae KTM is a retired South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a former member of the South Korean national gymnastics team, based in Taereung, Seoul. Son is the 2014 Asian Games All-around Champion, the 2010 Asian Games All-around bronze medalist, three-time Asian Championships All-around Champion. She is the first and only South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast to win a medal at the World Championships, FIG World Cup series, Universiade and the Asian Games.

Ganna Serhiivna Rizatdinova is a Ukrainian individual rhythmic gymnast. In the all-around event, she is the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World All-around medalist, and a two-time European All-around bronze medalist.
Margarita Mamun is a retired Russian individual rhythmic gymnast of Bangladeshi-Russian descent. She is the 2016 Olympic All-around champion, two-time World All-around silver medalist, the 2015 European Games All-around silver medalist, the 2016 European Championships All-around silver medalist, three-time Grand Prix Final All-around champion and a three-time (2011–2013) Russian National All-around champion.
Yana Alexeyevna Kudryavtseva is a retired Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic All-around silver medalist, three-time World Champion in the All-around (2013–2015), the 2015 European Games All-around champion, two-time European Championships All-around champion, the 2012 European Junior ball champion. In national level, she is a two-time Russian National All-around champion and three time Russian Junior National all-around champion.
Katsiaryna Aliaksandraŭna Halkina is a retired Belarusian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2018 European all-around bronze medalist. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and finished 6th in the all-around final.
Salome Pazhava is a former Georgian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is Georgia's most successful rhythmic gymnast after Irina Gabashvili. She finished 4th in All-around at the 2015 World Championships.
Dina Alekseyevna Averina is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic All-around silver medalist, the only four-time World All-around Champion, the 2018 silver and 2021 European All-around bronze medalist and the 2016 Grand Prix Final All-around silver medalist. On a National level, she is the 2017, 2018 and 2022 Russian National All-around champion and the 2013 Russian Junior All-around bronze medalist. Her identical twin sister, Arina Averina, is also a competitive rhythmic gymnast.
Arina Alekseyevna Averina is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a 2020 Summer Olympics finalist, a two-time world all-around silver medalist, a two-time European all-around champion and the 2016 Grand Prix Final all-around bronze medalist. She is a three-time (2019-2021) Russian national all-around champion and a three-time Russian national all-around medalist. Her identical twin sister Dina Averina is also a competitive rhythmic gymnast.
Linoy Ashram is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2020 Olympic All-around Champion, the 2018 World All-around silver medalist, two-time World All-around bronze medalist, the 2020 European All-around champion, and the 2019 European Games All-around silver medalist. She is the third Israeli athlete and first Israeli woman to win an Olympic gold medal in any sport, and the first Israeli rhythmic gymnast to win an Olympic medal. She became the first rhythmic gymnast from outside a post-Soviet republic to win a gold medal at an Olympics where former Soviet states participated. Ashram announced her retirement from competitive gymnastics at a press conference in Tel Aviv on 4 April 2022.
Neviana Stanimirova Vladinova is a retired Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2017 World bronze medalist with ball, and was seventh in the all-around at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese is a Romanian-Italian individual rhythmic gymnast who represents Italy. She is a World Championships silver and bronze medalist, and she competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Agiurgiuculese was the first Italian gymnast to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. At the national level, she is the 2019 Italian National all-around champion and three-time Italian National all-around silver medalist.
Katrin Yankova Taseva is a retired Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2017 European Silver medalist with Ribbon, 2019 Grand-Prix Final All-around bronze medalist, the 2019 World Cup series All-around and Ball winner and the double World Cup series Ribbon winner. Taseva had won multiple medals at the European Games and is also the 2018 Bulgarian National Champion and a four-time Bulgarian National All-around silver medalist.

She is the 2022 World all-around bronze medalist and hoop, clubs, and ribbon silver medalist, the 2023 World ball bronze medalist and team competition champion, and a two-time European all-around bronze medalist and champion in the team competition. She is also the 2020 European Junior ribbon champion and ball silver medalist.
Darja Varfolomeev is a German rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2023 World all-around gold medalist and the 2022 World all-around silver medalist.
