Christiana Rosenberg-Ahlhaus (born in Germany) is an individual rhythmic gymnast. She was the 1975 World all-around silver medalist. [1]
The absence of rhythmic gymnasts from the Soviet Union, Bulgaria and East Germany. For Western German athletes at the time, the highest ranked athletes remaining in contention meant Rosenberg and teammate Carmen Rischer competing at the 1975 World Championships in Madrid, Spain. Rosenberg went on to win the All-around silver medal behind teammate Rischer, she also won the gold medal in Ball and Clubs and a silver medal for Ribbon.
After her competitive career, Rosenberg studied ‘Play-Music-Dance’ at the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln; and upon completing her studies she worked there as a teacher in the field of rhythm and dance. Since 1984 she has been a scientific assistant at the University of Konstanz, where she holds a doctorate degree and is in charge of training in the field of dance and dance research, among others. Since 1986 she has been directing the dance group of the University of Konstanz and collaborating as a dancer in several contemporary productions. [2] She is also the author of various specialist books on the topic of dance and movement, and has been the chairwoman of the Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung since 2012.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and rope. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. It became an Olympic sport in 1984, with an individual all-around event. The group all-around competition was added to the Olympics in 1996. At the international level, rhythmic gymnastics is a women-only sport. The most prestigious competitions, besides the Olympic Games, are the World Championships, World Games, European Championships, European Games, the World Cup Series and the Grand Prix Series. Gymnasts are judged on their artistry, execution of skills, and difficulty of skills, for which they gain points. They perform leaps, balances, and rotations along with handling the apparatus.
Irina Viktorovna Tchachina is a retired Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2004 Olympic silver medalist in all-around, a two-time World all-around bronze medalist, the 2004 European all-around bronze medalist and 2000 Grand Prix Final all-around silver medalist.
Bianka Panova is a Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. One of the Golden Girls of Bulgaria that dominated rhythmic gymnastics in the 1980s. She is the 1987 World All-around champion, 1989 World All-around silver medalist, 1985 World All-around bronze medallist and 1986 European All-around champion. She won a total of nine World Championship gold medals.
Yulia Raskina is a Belarusian former rhythmic gymnast and trainer. She is the 2000 Olympics silver medalist, the 1999 World All-around silver medalist, the two time (2000,1999) European All-around silver medalist and 1999 Grand Prix Final All-around champion.
Evgeniya Olegovna Kanaeva OMF is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the only individual rhythmic gymnast in history to win two Olympic all-around gold medals, winning at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she finished with 3.75 points ahead of silver medalist Inna Zhukova, and at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she also became the oldest gymnast to win the Olympic gold. On 4 July 2013, Kanaeva received the International Fair Play Award for "Sport and Life".
Carmen Rischer ; born 16 May 1956 in Schwerte) is an individual Rhythmic Gymnast. She was the 1975 World All-around champion. She won the bronze medal in hoop at the 1980 European Championships in Amsterdam.
Darya Andreyevna Dmitriyeva is a Russian rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2012 Olympic all-around silver medalist, the 2010 World ribbon champion, the 2012 Grand Prix Final all-around champion, 2011 Grand Prix Final all-around silver medalist and 2010 Grand Prix Final all-around bronze medalist.
Son Yeon-jae KTM is a South Korean retired individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a former member of the South Korean national gymnastics team, based in Taereung, Seoul. She is the 2014 Asian Games All-around Champion, the 2010 Asian Games All-around bronze medalist, three-time Asian Championships All-around Champion. She is the first and only South Korean individual rhythmic gymnast to win a medal at the World Championships, FIG World Cup series, Universiade and the Asian Games.
Alexandra Sergeyevna Merkulova is a retired Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2010 Youth Olympic Games champion and the 2012 European all-around silver medalist.

Natália Azevedo Gaudio is a Brazilian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2018 South American Games all-around gold medalist, and the 2019 Pan American Games all-around bronze medalist.
Tsvetelina Yordanova Stoyanova is a Bulgarian group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2008 European Junior bronze medalist in rope. She won the gold medal in the Group-all around the 2014 World Championships.
Rie Matsubara is a Japanese group rhythmic gymnast. Being World champion and 10-time Asian champion, she is widely considered to be the most successful Japanese rhythmic gymnast ever.
Pooja Surve is an Indian individual rhythmic gymnast. She represents India at international competitions. She competed at world championships, including at the 2009 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, Japan. In 2010, she was the only gymnast from India to be in the top 16 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games; she won Miss Exotic Performance award in World Cup Belarus 2010, becoming the first Indian to ever get this award; and she also participated in the 2010 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, held in Moscow.
