"Carnival of Rust" is the first single and the title track of the Carnival of Rust album by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released in Finland on 22 March 2006 [2] and in Germany on 1 December 2006. [3] The single contains two versions of the track and a live recording of the song "Don't Mess With Me" from the band's first album Signs of Life. [1] The track was recorded on 15 July 2005 at Rockperry Festival in Vaasa, Finland.

Contents

The song has gained a significant amount of success by immediately hitting the number one on YleX's Most Wanted [4] and staying on top of the list for four months. The song reached number 2 in the official Finnish single charts [5] as well as the most wanted song of 2006 on YleX [6] and was #1 in overall sales/radio/video/disco play list according to the Finnish music book Sisältää Hitin [7] and #1 in the radio play list on Rumba's 50 Hits list.

"Carnival of Rust" video was released on March 30, 2005. It was added as a bonus to the Carnival of Rust album and then made available online on 8 September 2006 (watch it). It was made by the same director, who shot "Lift", Tuomas "Stobe" Harju.

Signs of Life is the debut album by the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released on 19 January 2005 and debuted at number-one on the Finnish charts. The album was released on the iTunes Music Shop in Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden in August 2005. It was released on iTunes for worldwide purchase on 12 April 2008. Cobra Starship American band

Marko Saaresto Finnish musician

Marko Saaresto is the founding member, lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the Finnish alternative rock band Poets of the Fall. Saaresto worked as a graphic designer before forming the band in late 2002. Sam Lake, Saaresto's friend and writer of the Max Payne series of videogames offered Saaresto a job writing the lead single for the game Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Saaresto wrote the single along with guitarist Olli Tukiainen and were assisted with the production by Remedy engineer Markus Kaarlonen. The song, "Late Goodbye" became a cult hit and propelled Poets of the Fall's rise to stardom. Saaresto has since toured in over 15 countries with Poets of the Fall. He is a classically trained singer and has a bass-baritone vocals range. He later went on to have bigger success within the video game industry when him and his band wrote and performed for the soundtrack of Alan Wake.

The Ultimate Fling is the first single from the album Revolution Roulette by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released in Finland on 6 February 2008. The single features three versions of the title track as well as a live recording of "Fire", the opening track from the band's second album Carnival of Rust. The live version was recorded during the Poets' performance at the Ankkarock Festival 2007 on 5 August 2007. The single peaked at number two in the official Finnish charts.

Iconcrash is a Finnish electrorock/darkwave band from Helsinki, formed by vocalist/composer Jaani Peuhu. Now the band members include Arttu Juntunen, keyboard and backing vocals, Riku-Niilo Mattila bass, Matti Toivonen, guitar and Oskari Vilmunen, drums. The English-Finnish record company Parole Records published their debut album Nude in spring 2005, after which the live band was assembled.

Alchemy Vol.1 is the first international compilation album by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. It was released in Finland as well as on iTunes on 16 March 2011. The record includes five tracks from Signs of Life, three tracks from Carnival of Rust, two tracks from Revolution Roulette, three tracks from Twilight Theater, and two original compositions.
