Carol Lee, or Lee Mei-kuen (born 1963) [1] is a Hong Kong-based contemporary artist. Her work speculates on the concepts of time, memories and human relationships, utilizing shape, juxtaposition, color, rhythm and intensity. She is one of the founding members of MIA (Mere Independent Artists). [1] She uses a time-based painting technique. [2] [3]
Lee received an MFA degree from RMIT University. [1]
Lee's work has been described as "visually minimal and static." [4]
Lee's artwork usually consists of her tracing shadows of objects with a pencil on newsprint paper, cutting out a stencil and then exposing the paper (under the stencil) to sunlight. This causes the color of the paper to change and deepen in areas exposed to light. [3] [5]
The difference between photography and her works are that her methods do not include chemical substances that preserve color, therefore according to Lee, her work illustrates a philosophy of time painting. [6] [ better source needed ]
Lee also produces sculptures in plate glass. She had produced a chair fabricated in panels of transparent glass, [7] as well as a robot, and other objects. These works have been exhibited at the Hong Kong Arts Center, the Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung Foundation, Munich, Germany, the Lviv Glass Museum, Ukraine, among other venues. [8]

Jerry Kwan is a Hong Kong artist, Born in Xinhui, Guangdong in 1934, in southern China, Kwan moved to Hong Kong in 1949. He started painting during the 1960s and the 1970s. While Kwan did not work with just one single style in his artworks, his main focus was on oil paintings.

Yim Maukun is a Chinese-Taiwanese artist, educator, and author, best known for his realistic yet evocative portraiture, nudes, historical/narrative works, and plein air landscapes. His technical proficiency and artistic achievements encompass a range of media, including oil painting, charcoal, ink, watercolor, and pastels. As part of his many exhibits, Yim's work has been shown at two of the most important and prestigious museums in Taiwan, the Kaoshiung Chiang Kai-shek Cultural Center and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei ; he has been featured in dozens of publications, including Rachel Robin Wolf's recent Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing series published by North Light Books) and several of the more prominent art magazines and daily newspapers in China and Taiwan. Yim Maukun's instructional painting series has appeared on the Taiwanese networks China TV and Beautiful Life Television.
Ivy Ma is a Hong Kong visual artist specializing in mixed media works. Her works were featured in the Hong Kong Art Biennial in 2005 and the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Awards in 2012. She was the winner of the Young Artist Award category of the 2012 Hong Kong Contemporary Art Awards. She was one of the fifteen artists included in the online Artshare exhibition entitled Resistance dedicated to Hong Kong artists, curated by art writer Caroline Ha Thuc. Recipients of the FCO Chevening University of Leeds Scholarship from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Lee Hysan Foundation Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council, she participated in various artist-in-residence programs and international artist workshops in Bangladesh, Finland, Åland, and the USA from 2005 to 2009. Her works are in the collection of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and is part of the Hong Kong Legislative Council Complex Art Acquisition Project commissioned by the Hong Kong Legislative Council Commission.
Jaffa Lam is a Chinese visual artist. She is known for her mixed-media sculptures and site-specific works that inquire into Hong Kong culture and history. Lam often uses recycled materials such as found fabric or wood from construction sites. She began focusing on community engagement and socially responsible art at the time of the SARS outbreak in Hong Kong in 2003. And since then, she has created many community-driven projects in Hong Kong and abroad. In 2006, she received the Asian Cultural Council's Desiree and Hans Michael Jebsen Fellowship. Her works have been acquired by public institutions, including Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Lam is also known as an educator. She is currently Academic Head at the Hong Kong Art School.

The visual art of Hong Kong, or Hong Kong art, refers to all forms of visual art in or associated with Hong Kong throughout its history and towards the present. The history of Hong Kong art is closely related to the broader history of Chinese art, alongside the art of Taiwan and Macau. Rosa Lee (1957–2009) was a Hong Kong-born British painter, teacher and writer.
