Massey University is a university based in New Zealand, with significant campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North, and Wellington. Massey University has approximately 27,533 students, 18,358 of whom study either partly or fully by distance. Research is undertaken on all three campuses and people from over 130 countries study at the university. Data from the 2017 annual report shows that 42% of the domestic students are based in Auckland, 38% in Palmerston North and 20% in Wellington.

Until 1975, New Zealand used the British honours system. Since then the country has introduced a number of uniquely New Zealand honours, and as of 2021, only the dynastic British honours continue in active use in New Zealand, with the exception of the Order of the Companions of Honour.

Sir David John Moxon is a New Zealand Anglican bishop. He was until June 2017, the Archbishop of Canterbury's Representative to the Holy See and Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome. He was previously the Bishop of Waikato in the Diocese of Waikato and Taranaki, the archbishop of the New Zealand dioceses and one of the three primates of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. In the 2014 New Year Honours, he was appointed a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the Anglican Church and was made Knight of the Order of St John in the 2024 Special Honours.
Villa Maria College is a single-sex secondary school in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was opened on 18 February 1918 with 14 pupils. It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and served as a parish school when boys were admitted in 1921. From 1941 the school reverted to being a girls' college. Villa Maria College is a day school but it also had boarders between 1935 and 1979. In 1981, the college was integrated into the New Zealand state school system under the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 but its proprietors remain the Sisters of Mercy.
Annette Diana Huntington is a New Zealand nursing academic. She is a professor of nursing and head of school at Massey University and previously served as chair of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

Patricia Elizabeth Florence Bradbury is a New Zealand academic, who retired as a full professor at Massey University, specialising in sport management, in December 2023. In 2024, she was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to sport and education.
Shirley Jean Jülich is a New Zealand social work academic, and is an associate professor at Massey University, specialising in restorative justice for sexual abuse. In 2023 Jülich was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to restorative justice and survivors of sexual abuse.

In 2005 Hughes was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the mental health profession. In 2020 she was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to nursing and mental health.
Lisa Shelley Argilla is a South African–New Zealand wildlife veterinarian who leads a wildlife hospital in Dunedin. Argilla is director of the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital. In 2021 Argilla was appointed as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to animal welfare and conservation.
Josephine Harle Howse is a New Zealand academic administrator. In 2022 she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to education.
Andrea Jane Blair is a New Zealand geothermal consultant. She was president of the International Geothermal Association for three years, and co-founded the international association Women in Geothermal. In 2024, Blair was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the geothermal industry and women.

Louise Gladys Rummel is a New Zealand nurse and nursing educator. She has taught at Manukau Institute of Technology for forty years. Rummel was made an honorary member of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation in 2004. In 2024 she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to nursing education.
Deborah Ann Manning is a New Zealand lawyer and charity founder. Manning founded food sharing charity KiwiHarvest, and a sister charity the New Zealand Food Network to redistribute food more efficiently and reduce environmental pollution from food waste. In 2024 Manning was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community and the environment.
