Carolyn Strauss (born July 13, 1963) is an American television executive and producer. She was the president of the Home Box Office network's entertainment division until 2008 and was responsible for commissioning series like The Sopranos , The Wire , Six Feet Under , Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sex and the City . Upon leaving the position she became a television developer and producer and was given a production deal with HBO. She has collaborated with the network on the series Treme , Game of Thrones , and Luck . [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Personal life

Being of Jewish descent, in August 2015 she signed - as one of 98 members of the Los Angeles Jewish community - an open letter supporting the proposed nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers led by the United States "as being in the best interest of the United States and Israel." [7]

<i>House of the Dragon</i> American fantasy TV series

House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. A prequel to Game of Thrones (2011–2019), it is the second television series in Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik served as the showrunners for the first season. Based on parts of Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. Featuring an ensemble cast, the show portrays the events leading up to the decline of House Targaryen, a devastating war of succession known as the "Dance of the Dragons."

Somebody Somewhere is an American comedy drama television series starring Bridget Everett and created by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen. It premiered on HBO on January 16, 2022. In February 2022, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 23, 2023. In June 2023, the series was renewed for a third season. In August 2024, it was confirmed the series would end after the third season, and the final season is set to premiere on October 27, 2024.
