Carrickshock is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated in the south of County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club was founded in 1928 [1] when the teams from Hugginstown and Knockmoylan were amalgamated in commemoration of the Battle of Carrickshock, 1831.
Carrickshock have had success in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship, winning the competition seven times. Their record of four county titles in a row between 1940 and 1943 remained unbroken until 2009 when Ballyhale Shamrocks won their 4th title in succession.
Several hurlers from the club have gone to play with the Kilkenny senior intercounty team.

Ballyhale Shamrocks is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Ballyhale in County Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1972 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. Ballyhale Shamrocks are the most successful club in the history of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship with nine titles.

Danesfort is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, based in Danesfort in County Kilkenny, that competes in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship. The club's grounds are located approximately 4 miles south of Kilkenny city on the Waterford Road.

He was born in Kilcurl, County Kilkenny, near the villages of Knocktopher and Ballyhale, and migrated to the UK before returning to Ireland and settling in Wicklow. He was managing director of the National Ploughing Association and National Ploughing Championships (1958-1972), and was active in promoting hurling and campaigning for the abolition of The Ban on GAA players playing non-Gaelic sports.
The 2017 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 123rd staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship began on 16 September 2017 and ended 29 October 2017.
