Carter Beckworth (born 1986 in Houston, Texas) is an American singer-songwriter and musician who resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is known for his unique style, combining rock, R&B and electronic elements. [1] He has released five solo albums since 2007, and he is also the lead vocalist of the rock band Baker Hotel, with whom he has released two albums. [2]
Beckworth has been writing songs and singing since the age of 12. [3] He started playing professionally when he was a student at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. It was here that he released his debut solo album, Fairweather Grace, in 2007. [4] Beckworth returned to Texas to attend St. Edward's University. After a year, Beckworth transferred to University of Texas at Austin where he graduated in 2010 with a degree in English and a minor in Spanish. He later took a job as a fishing guide in Alaska, and performed his music for the guests at the lodge where he worked. [4]
Beckworth's name is known to fans of the hit single, "Mabel," which played on over 200 radio stations and was selected to appear in two independent films. [5]
While Beckworth was in Austin from 2008 until he graduated from UT Austin in 2010, he studied full-time and also performed as frontman for the rock band Baker Hotel, whose sound was called reminiscent of ground-breakers like Pearl Jam, ZZ Top, and Guns N' Roses. [6] The band released two albums – Baker Hotel (Independent) in 2008 and Hard To Prove (Revolution Records) in 2010. [7]
Beckworth has toured in more than 30 states around the United States and Canada, and has shared the stage with performers such as Randy Rogers Band, Carolyn Wonderland, Bob Schneider, Bruce Robison, Black Oak Arkansas, Mike McClure, Micky & the Motorcars, Ryan Bingham, Hayes Carll, [8] Cory Morrow and Pat Green, [9] as well as noted country musician Radney Foster. [10]
As a songwriter, Beckworth writes almost all of his own material, [11] and contributed six songs [12] to Texas music star Cory Morrow's 2015 album 'The Good Fight.' [13]

The 13th Floor Elevators was an American rock band from Austin, Texas, United States, formed by guitarist and vocalist Roky Erickson, electric jug player Tommy Hall, and guitarist Stacy Sutherland. The band was together from 1965 to 1969, and during that period released four albums and seven singles for the International Artists record label.

Parker Yancey McCollum is an American Americana and country singer-songwriter based in Texas. The owner of PYM Music, he released his first single and EP in 2013; his debut album The Limestone Kid was released on February 24, 2015. The Austin Chronicle gave the release 3.5/5 stars, writing that "it's too early to declare The Limestone Kid debut of the year, but it's already one to beat," and comparing McCollum's music to Charlie Robison's. McCollum and his backing band announced a 2015 tour of Texas in support of the album, performing at events such as RedGorilla Music Fest. McCollum released the EP Probably Wrong: Session One on July 7, 2017, and followed it with Probably Wrong: Session Two on September 8, 2017. The full Probably Wrong album was released on November 10, 2017. His major-label debut album Gold Chain Cowboy was released July 30, 2021.
American singer Pat Green has released twelve studio albums, two live albums, and twenty singles. After a number of independent releases in his home state of Texas, Green made his chart debut with "Texas on My Mind", a duet with Cory Morrow from their collaborative album Songs We Wish We'd Written. After this, he appeared on Radney Foster's "Texas in 1880", a song originally recorded by Foster in the duo Foster & Lloyd and appearing on Foster's album Are You Ready for the Big Show? Green's first solo single was 2001's "Carry On" from the 2001 album Three Days. Green would also record Wave on Wave and Lucky Ones for Universal before moving to the former BNA Records for Cannonball and What I'm For.
Randall Clay Blaker is an American country musician, singer-songwriter, and producer based in Texas for most of his career. His songs have been recorded by many other artists, including George Strait, Tim McGraw, The Derailers, LeAnn Rimes, Doug Sahm, Johnny Mathis and Barbra Streisand. Blaker has also been a popular regional entertainer and has released several albums of his own material with his band, the Texas Honky-Tonk Band.
