Cast the First Stone is the fifth studio album by the Canadian deathcore/mathcore band Ion Dissonance, released on November 18, 2016 through Good Fight Music. It is their first album in six years, following their 2010 album Cursed . Vocalist Kevin McCaughey explained in an interview, "the first songs for Cast the First Stone started coming together around 2012 or so, it's just only around the summer months of 2015 that we actually got into the process of creating new music and taking it seriously to the point we're saying 'Let’s put out this record sooner than later'." New Adventures in Hi-Fi is the tenth studio album by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. It was their fifth major-label release for Warner Bros. Records, released on September 9, 1996, in Europe and Australia, and the following day in the United States. New Adventures in Hi-Fi was the band's final album recorded with founding drummer Bill Berry, original manager Jefferson Holt, and long-time producer Scott Litt. The members of R.E.M. consider the recorded album representative of the band at their peak, and fans generally regard it as the band's last great record before a perceived artistic decline during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Mathcore is a subgenre of hardcore punk and metalcore influenced by post-hardcore, extreme metal and math rock that developed during the 1990s. Bands in the genre emphasize complex and fluctuant rhythms through the use of irregular time signatures, polymeters, syncopations and tempo changes. Early mathcore lyrics were addressed from a realistic worldview and with a pessimistic, defiant, resentful or sarcastic point of view.
Scott Lewis McCaughey is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter and the leader of the Seattle and Portland-based bands The Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5. He was also an auxiliary member of the American rock band R.E.M. from 1994 until the band's break-up in 2011, contributing to the studio albums New Adventures in Hi-Fi, Up, Reveal, Around the Sun, Accelerate and Collapse into Now.

Minus the Herd is the third studio album by the Canadian mathcore band Ion Dissonance, released on June 5, 2007 through Abacus Recordings. Minus the Herd sold over 1,900 copies its first week of release, peaking at #22 on the Billboard 200 Heatseekers Charts. A music video was made for Kneel in 2007, and was released the same year viva Abacus Recording's YouTube channel. This album finishes the departure from their technical and chaotic mathcore sound in favor of groovy and heavy djent sound, which started at the previous album, Solace.

As a touring act, Tame Impala consists of Parker, Dominic Simper, Jay Watson, Cam Avery, and Julien Barbagallo. The group has a close affiliation with fellow Australian psychedelic rock band Pond, sharing members and collaborators, including Nick Allbrook, formerly a live member of Tame Impala. Originally signed to Modular Recordings, Tame Impala is now signed to Interscope Records in the United States and Fiction Records in the United Kingdom.
Casey Neill is an American musician. He leads Portland, Oregon-based band Casey Neill & The Norway Rats, singing with a raspy vocal quality and playing electric and acoustic guitars.
