Cat Cafe Manager is a simulation video game that takes place in the town of Caterwaul. [1] The main character is given a plot of land, and builds a cat cafe. Players must cater to different types of customers by serving their favorite dishes to receive different things, such as catering to witches to unlock new recipes. [2] Each customer has their own individual story with unique dialogue. [3] Additionally, players must also obtain and take care of stray cats to attract customers, with certain types of cat being more attractive to certain customer types. These cats can be also be adopted by patrons, making room to bring in new cats. [1]
The game was developed by Dutch indie game studio Roost Games. [4] It released on April 14, 2022. [2] A sequel, titled Cat Cafe Manager 2: Big City Bliss, is currently in development. [5]
Cat Cafe Manager received mixed reception from reviewers. GamesRadar+ 's Alyssa Mercante said that she was "hooked" by the game, praising the depth of its gameplay. [3] The game was also praised by Annette Polis of Siliconera . [1] Mark Delaney of GameSpot was more critical, rating the game 5 out of 10, praising the in-game economy and art design while criticizing the game for all of the bugs in the decoration system. [2] The game also receivied a 5.5 from Destructoid's Zoey Handley, who heavily criticized the imprecise controls and large number of bugs. [6]

The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and mutant bacteria, and sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion, B-12. The game is presented through a third-person perspective. The player traverses the game world by leaping across platforms and climbing up obstacles, and can interact with the environment to open new paths. Using B-12, they can store items found throughout the world and hack into technology to solve puzzles. Throughout the game, the player must evade the antagonistic Zurks and Sentinels, which attempt to kill them.

Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a 2021 action role-playing video game developed by Team Ladybug and co-published by Playism and Why so serious? for Microsoft Windows. It is based on Ryo Mizuno's Record of Lodoss War series, taking place before the events of The Crown of the Covenant. Controlling the high elf Deedlit, who finds herself in a strange interconnected labyrinth filled with her past foes and companions, the game focuses on exploration and searching for items and power-ups in the vein of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, fighting bosses and minibosses. During gameplay, the player also locates two elemental spirits and swaps between each one.

The Game Awards 2022 was an award show that honored the best video games of 2022. The event was hosted by Geoff Keighley, creator and producer of The Game Awards, and was held to an invited audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 8, 2022. The preshow ceremony was hosted by Sydnee Goodman. The event was live streamed across more than 40 digital platforms, alongside an additional IMAX experience. It featured musical performances from Halsey, Hozier, and Bear McCreary, and presentations from celebrity guests, including Reggie Fils-Aimé, Al Pacino, Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Ken and Roberta Williams. Sucker for Love: First Date is a parodic dating sim and horror-themed visual novel developed by indie developer Joseph "Akabaka" Hunter, and published by DreadXP. The game revolves around a young man who obtains a pink version of the Necronomicon, and begins performing rituals to summon moe anthropomorphic beings from the Cthulhu Mythos, such as Ln'eta, a female version of Cthulhu, sacrificing his body parts and ultimately threatening the world with annihilation. The game received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its writing, voice acting and artwork, but criticized its short length, glitches, and low emphasis on romance for a dating sim. A sequel further exploring the Cthulhu Mythos, Sucker for Love: Date to Die For, was announced later in 2022.

The depiction of animals in video games has echoed the wider symbolism of animals in culture. Games feature animals in roles ranging from NPC to companion and even protagonist. Animals are depicted with varying degrees of intelligence, from realistic to possessing human levels of self-awareness. They are considered crucial to worldbuilding. However, there are unique aspects and challenges to depicting animals within a game. The behavior and appearance of animals must be digitally recreated rather than simply recorded, a difficult task that may detract from other aspects of the game, leading to discussion on whether interactivity with animals should be prioritized. He Fucked the Girl Out of Me is a 2022 video game by independent developer Taylor McCue.
