Catarina Fagundes

Catarina Fagundes (born 8 April 1977 in Funchal, Madeira) is a Portuguese sailor. She competed in the Mistral Windsurf Class at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, and achieved the 21st position. She was the first Portuguese female athlete to enter an Olympic event in a sailing class.

Graduated by University of Aveiro for Tourism Planning and Management.

At present she is a business entrepreneur, ornithologist and windsurfing coach in Madeira, Portugal. CEO of Wind Birds. [1]

The International Speed Windsurfing Class (ISWC) is a class of speed windsurfing boards that has developed over the last 30 years in order to facilitate high performance competition in strong winds and on flat water. The International Speed Windsurfing Class is controlled by World Sailing and has been adopted as an international class in spring 2007. The class is defined as an "experimental" class, which means that the class rules give a wide possibility for the development of new equipment, also outside commonly used technologies. Speed windsurfing events are normally held on "flat water" as opposed to coastal surf; which means side-offshore wind directions with a strength of at least 20 knots (10 m/s). The ISWC speed world champion is established throughout a tour, the Speed World Cup.

Michael William "Gebi" Gebhardt is a former professional and Olympic windsurfer from the United States, who competed in five consecutive Summer Olympics, in the Olympic sailing discipline/event of windsurfing. He was born in Columbus, Ohio.

The Mistral One Design Class (MOD) is a windsurfing class chosen by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) for use at the Olympic Regatta in Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. Starting with the 2008 Summer Olympics it was replaced by the RS:X class, which will be replaced by the iQFoil class for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Lisa Neuburger is an American sailor. Lisa competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics and 1996 Summer Olympics. Lisa is a two-time world windsurfing champion having won the IYRU Women’s World Championships in 1984 and the Production Board Open World Championships in 1987. Her competitive windsurfing career spanned more than 2 decades in one-design and open classes, and professional PWA World Cup competition from 1979 through 2004, including multiple regional and National titles and top rankings, gold medal wins in the 1993 Caribbean and Central American Games in Puerto Rico and the 1994 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia, and a silver medal finish in the 1995 Pan Am Games in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. On the professional World Cup tour, Lisa was internationally ranked and finished in the top 5 overall in the women’s PWA Pro World Tour in 1991. <span class="mw-page-title-main">IQFoil</span>

iQFoil is a windsurfing class selected by World Sailing to replace the RS:X for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The discipline has similarities to Formula Windsurfing, however a notable difference is that sailors only use one sail. The sail size is 9m2 for the men and 8m2 for the women. The rider has a choice between using a hydrofoil or a conventional 68 cm fin.

Katya Ida Coelho better known as Katya Coelho is an Indian professional Windsurfer from Goa. She is also a designer and illustrator. Coelho is currently India's only Women iQFoiler and is the first Indian to win an IQFoil Medal at the International Windsurfing Cup in July 2022 in Pattaya, Thailand.
