Warren County is a county located in the south central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 134,554, making it the fifth-most populous county in Kentucky. The county seat is Bowling Green. Warren County is now classified as a wet county after voters approved the measure in 2018. The measure became law in January 2019 that allows alcohol to be sold county wide.

The county was founded on December 20, 1798, from parts of Warren and Green Counties. It was named for the Barrens, meadowlands that cover the northern third, though actually the soil is fertile. Barren County is part of the Glasgow, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Bowling Green-Glasgow, KY Combined Statistical Area. In 2007 Barren County was named the "Best Place to Live in Rural America" by Progressive Farmer Magazine.

Caverna High School is a small public high school located in Horse Cave, Kentucky, United States. Built in 1950, the school is operated by the Caverna Independent Schools, one of only a handful of school districts in Kentucky that are known to operate across county lines. In 1950, Horse Cave, located in Hart County; Cave City, in Barren County; and the Kentucky Board of Education held a meeting that approved the union of the two districts because of the low student numbers in both school systems. The actual construction of the new school did not start until 1951. Originally the school was going to be named, "Caberma." However, it was decided to stay with the name "Caverna."
Covington Independent Public Schools is an independent school district serving Covington, Kentucky, United States. It is one of four independent school districts in Kenton County. With about 4,073 students as of 2019, it is the largest independent school district in Kentucky. The district's only high school, Holmes Junior/Senior High School, is the oldest public high school in Kentucky. The district also operates an early childhood center, five elementary schools, and an adult education program. With 914 employees, the district is Covington's fourth largest employer.
Highland Springs is an unincorporated community in northwest Barren County, Kentucky, United States.
Northtown is an unincorporated community in Hart County, Kentucky, United States. The elevation of Northtown is 837 feet. It appears on the Mammoth Cave U.S. Geological Survey Map and is in the Central Time Zone.
