Celebrity Treasure Island 2022 is the sixth celebrity edition and the 12th season overall of the New Zealand reality-television series Treasure Island which returned to Ngataki, Northland, New Zealand. This season premiered on 5 September, and aired weekly, Monday to Wednesday, at 7:30 PM on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+; hosted by Matt Chisholm and Bree Tomasel. [1] One of the twenty-one celebrities won a grand prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity. [2]
Jesse Tuke won the treasure hunt on Day 27 and took $100,000 for Live Ocean. [3] Courtney Louise and Elvis Lopeti were the other two finalists. This season raised $205,000 across 14 various charities across New Zealand.
Eighteen celebrities [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] were initially separated into three tribes with te reo Māori names based on flora and fauna of New Zealand: Kauri (Agathis australis), Kuaka (Bar-tailed godwit) and Mangō (Great white shark), including the merged tribe as Toroa (a Southern royal albatross).
This season was the first not to incorporate the show's pirate theme tradition in the game-play and introduced three celebrities (Dame Susan Devoy, Mike King and Ron Cribb) entered the competition subsequently as intruders on Day 2, Day 4 and Day 7 respectively. [9]
On Day 1, the twenty-second contestant was honoured as part of the cast. Former All Black Va'aiga 'Inga' Tuigamala travelled to the filming location with the rest of the cast but left for health reasons and subsequently died. His chosen charity was awarded $5,000. [10] [11] On Day 9, Ron Cribb won the individual charity challenge and announced that he competed for two charities instead of one; (Stand for Children) & former All Blacks Inga's charity (Alliance Health Plus).

Australian Survivor is an Australian adventure reality game show based on the international Survivor format. Following the premise of other versions of the Survivor format, the show features a group of contestants, referred to as "castaways" as they are marooned in an isolated location. The castaways must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in various challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted off the island by their fellow castaways. The final castaway remaining is awarded the title of "Sole Survivor" and the grand prize of A$500,000.
Va'aiga Lealuga Tuigamala Pulelua Fesola'i, sometimes known as Inga Tuigamala, was a professional rugby union and rugby league footballer. Born in Samoa, he represented New Zealand in rugby union, winning 19 caps, and later Samoa in both rugby league and rugby union. He played in one rugby league and two rugby union World Cups.
La’auli Montgomery Junior "Monty" Betham is a professional boxer, and former professional rugby league footballer. A New Zealand international representative hooker and lock, he played club football for the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League, and for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (captain) in the Super League.
Ronald Te Huia Cribb is a former New Zealand rugby union player. A loose forward, the 1.94 m, 110 kg Cribb is a former All Black, and mainly played number eight.
Treasure Island is a reality competition television franchise. The programme originated in New Zealand in 1997, where it was originally produced by Touchdown Television and broadcast by TVNZ, with later editions produced for broadcasters in Australia and Ireland. In the programme, contestants are isolated on a remote Fijian island and compete for a cash prize of NZ$25,000. From the 2019 edition, the winner of the Celebrity Treasure Island will receive NZ$100,000 and NZ$50,000 for the regular season their chosen charity.

Melodie Robinson is a New Zealand sports journalist and presenter, and former international rugby union player for the New Zealand women's national rugby union team. She played 18 tests for the New Zealand women's team, the Black Ferns, from 1996 to 2002. Robinson won two world cups in that time, playing blindside or openside flanker. She also represented New Zealand in sevens at the Hong Kong 7s and Japan 7s.

The Great Kiwi Bake Off is a New Zealand television baking competition based on The Great British Bake Off in which 12 amateur bakers compete in a series of baking challenges. The show's first episode was aired on 16 October 2018 on TVNZ 2. The show is hosted by Hayley Sproull and Madeleine Sami, with judges Dean Brettschneider and Sue Fleischl. The show, like other spinoffs of The Great British Bake Off, uses a similar style, format, and opening theme song to the British series. Like the British series, the show is followed by a recap special called An Extra Slice, hosted by Chris Parker, discussing the episode of the week and interviewing contestants who have been eliminated.

Celebrity Treasure Island 2019 marked the show's return after a hiatus of more than a decade. Hosted by Survivor NZ producer and host, Matt Chisholm, as well as ZM radio's Drive host Bree Tomasel. The classic Kiwi game show will have 16 celebrity castaways pair up as they complete challenges for the chance to win $100,000 for their charity of choice in Fiji. The season premiered on Sunday 18 August, 7 pm and continues Monday & Tuesday 7.30 pm, TVNZ 2. This was to be the final show that Matt Chisholm presented with TVNZ.
Treasure Island 2023 was the seventh regular edition and the 13th season overall of the New Zealand reality-television series Treasure Island which returned to Mamanuca Islands, Fiji since the COVID-19 pandemic. This season premiered on 30 January 2023, and aired weekly, Monday to Wednesday, at 7:30 PM on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+; hosted by Bree Tomasel and a new co-host Jayden Daniels. This season was the first season to include former seasons contestants and a winner since Superstars of Treasure Island in 2005, competed in charity challenges and a chance to win $50,000.
