Dmitry Kursky Russian politician

Dmitry Ivanovich Kursky was a Russian communist politician. Kursky joined the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1904. He served as the chairman of the Drissa town Soviet. He was the People's Commissar for Justice of the RSFSR and the USSR from 1918–1928. He committed suicide in 1932.

Józef Unszlicht Polish politician

Józef Unszlicht or Iosif Stanislavovich Unshlikht was a Bolshevik revolutionary activist, one of the founders of the Cheka, and Soviet government official of Polish extraction from the Masovian region. Unszlicht participated in and in fact initiated some of the worst excesses of the Bolshevik revolution including mass murders of political opponents. In 1924, he was replaced by Genrikh Yagoda who continued and amplified Unszlicht's previous policies.
