The Professional Golfers' Association of America is an American organization of golf professionals that was founded in 1916. Consisting of nearly 29,000 members, the PGA of America's undertaking is to establish and elevate the standards of the profession and to grow interest and participation in the game of golf.

The Shawnee Open is a golf tournament that was first held in 1912. It is played at The Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The couse was completed in 1911, the first ever design by renowned architect A. W. Tillinghast. The Shawnee Open was recognized as a PGA Tour event from 1916 to 1937. While no longer recognized as a PGA Tour event, there have been more than 60 Shawnee Opens played. It is still held annually, and is now sponsored by the Philadelphia section of the PGA of America.
The South Florida PGA Championship is a golf tournament that is the championship of the South Florida section of the PGA of America. The tournament has been played annually since 1979, the year the section was founded. Alan Morin and Paul Trittler have the most victories with three. PGA Tour winners who have also won the South Florida PGA Championship include Bruce Fleischer (twice), Julius Boros, Bob Murphy, and Tom Shaw.
The Northeast New York PGA Championship is a golf tournament that is the championship of the Northeast New York section of the PGA of America. Armand Farina, World War II veteran and golf course designer, holds the record for most victories with five until Scott Berliner won in 2020 and he currently has 7 wins. Gene Sarazen, winner of 39 PGA Tour events and seven major championships, won the Northeast New York PGA Championship in 1966 at the age of 64.
