The Chamber of Commerce Traveling Cup is a traveling trophy continuously awarded to the winner of the American college football rivalry game between the Dakota State Trojans and the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. [1] [2] [3] The Trojans currently are in the North Star Athletic Association [4] and the Tigers are currently in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. [5]

Series history

The Dakota State Trojans hold a 35–29–1 all-time series lead against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. [6] However, the Chamber of Commerce Traveling Cup wasn't introduced to the rivalry until 2017. [7] Since then the Trojans hold a series lead of 6–1.

There was no game held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [8]

Notable games

August 29, 2024: This was the inaugural game for the Trojans at Brian Kern Family Stadium. [9] [10] This game also marked the highest margin of victory, 31 points, in the trophy's history.

Dakota State University (DSU) is a public university in Madison, South Dakota, United States. The school was founded in 1881 as a normal school, or teacher training school. Education is still the university's heritage mission, but a signature mission of technology was added by the state legislature in 1984 to specialize in "programs in computer management, computer information systems, and other related undergraduate and graduate programs."

The South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference (SDIC) was an NAIA-associated collegiate athletic conference that ceased operations following the 1999–2000 academic school year when it merged with the North Dakota College Athletic Conference to form the Dakota Athletic Conference.
