Charlie O'Connell (born 19 December 2002) is an English footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Vanarama National League South club Boreham Wood.

Career

Peterborough United

O'Connell made his senior debut as a substitute in a 4–1 League One win over Doncaster Rovers on 9 May 2021. [2]

During the 2021–22 campaign, O'Connell enjoyed a brief loan spell with Kettering Town, featuring three times in all competitions. [3] [4] Proceeding this, he went onto to join Woking on three separate occasions during both 2022–23 [5] [6] and 2023–24 campaigns, returning to the club as recently as October 2023, [7] signing a one-month loan with the Surrey-based side.

Proceeding a brief return to Woking, O'Connell joined National League South side, Hampton & Richmond Borough on loan in February 2024. [8] He went onto feature seven times, scoring once before moving onto Oxford City for the remainder of the campaign. [9] He made his debut that same day in a 2–2 draw with Rochdale. [10]

On 12 May 2024, Peterborough announced the player had been transfer-listed. [11]

On 03 July 2024, O'Connell moved to Boreham Wood for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal. [12]
