Charlie Sayers (born 29 March 2004) is an English professional footballer who plays left back or Centre Back for Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle.

Career

Southend United

Sayers began his career with English National League side Southend United, breaking through as a 17 year old. [1] [2] [3]

Tottenham Hotspur

Sayers joined English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee in December 2021. [2] [4] Sayers was released by Spurs in 2024. [5]

Partick Thistle

Sayers joined Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle on a three-year deal in August 2024. [6] [7] Sayers made his Thistle debut coming off the bench in a 2–1 away defeat to Falkirk in the Scottish Championship. [8]

The 2020–21 season was Partick Thistle's first season in the third tier of Scottish football in Scottish League One, having been relegated from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2019–20 season. On 15 April 2020, the SPFL voted to end the lower leagues in Scottish football due to the coronavirus pandemic and as a result Partick were relegated to League One after two years in the Championship, which the club decided not to take legal action against. Partick Thistle also competed in the League Cup, and the Scottish Cup.

The 2023–24 season was Dundee United's 115th season. It was their first season back in the Scottish Championship, having been relegated from the Scottish Premiership at the end of the 2022–23 season. The club also participated in the League Cup, Challenge Cup and Scottish Cup.

The 2023–24 season will be Partick Thistle's fourth season back in the Scottish Championship, having been promoted from League One at the end of the 2020–21 season. Thistle will also compete in the League Cup, Challenge Cup, Scottish Cup and Glasgow Cup.
