Charudatta Aphale (born early 1960s) is a kirtan performer, son of kirtan performer Govindswami Aphale. Govindswami was often referred to Aphale-buwa when he was active. And now Charudatta is referred to as Aphale-buwa, with Buwa being an honorific term. Aphale took his kirtan lessons from his parents and Pt. Sharad Gokhale, Pt. He started acting in Marathi Sangit Nataks (musical plays) right from his school days. He has acted in several plays like Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, [1] Shakuntal, Saubhadra, Sanshay Kallol, Matsyagandha , Lavani Bhulali Abhangala, Atun Kirtan varun Tamasha, Ithe Oshalala Mrutyu, To Mi Navhech etc.
Charudatta Aphale completed B.A. with Marathi language as the principal subject; later he chose music as the main subject for his M.A. [ citation needed ] Charudatta Aphale's father, Govindswami Aphale, was among the foremost keertankaars of his day from 1950s to 1980s. Aphale has carried forward his family's tradition of Kirtan (a form of narration which combines spiritual and social messages with music). He has performed more than 5000 kirtans in 25 years. His kirtan performances have taken place not only in Maharashtra, but also in other states of India and even in U.S.A., Canada and Australia etc. He has also performed on several television and channels. His sister, Krantigeeta Mahabal, is also a noted keertan performer. [2]
Charudatta Aphale's kirtans include topics like freedom fighters, religious kirtans, and kirtans on saints. This includes, Vasudev Balwant Phadke, Chaphekar Brothers[ citation needed ], Rani Laxmibai, [ citation needed ] Netaji Subhashchandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Shivaji, Sambhaji, [3] Bajirao I etc. [4] [5]
Aphale also educates young students about historic tales and especially anecdotes from the lives of Marathi saints. [6]

Sangeet Natak is a form of drama which combines prose and poetry in the form of songs to convey the story, similar to musicals. They have played a vital role in the development of Marathi theater and cinema, as well as the Indian film industry. Sangeet Nataks start with the praise of Lord Natraja, which is called Naandi, Mangalaacharan or Suchakpad – usually the famous "Panchatunda Nararundamaldhar" from Sangeet Shakuntal. Ramchandra Purushottam Marathe, also known as Pandit Ram Marathe, was a Marathi music director, singer, and actor on stage and in films. As a child actor, he performed the title role of Krishna in Prabhat Film Company's 1938 film, Gopal Krishna. He was disciple of Vilayat Hussain Khan, the maestro of Agra gharana of Hindustani classical music., Master Krishnarao Phulambrikar and others. Through Master krishnarao, he developed his Khayal style which had elements of different gharanas such as Jaipur, Gwalior and Agra.
Marathi Kirtan or " Kirtan " is an art of spiritual teaching through story-telling. It is typically performed by one or two main performers, called Keertankar, accompanied by harmonium, Castanets/chiplya/Kartal/Khartal, Manjeera/Taal/Jhaanj/cymbals, Tambori, Mridang/Pakhwaj and Tabla musicians. Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a 2015 Indian Marathi-language epic musical drama film based on a play by the same name. Directed by Subodh Bhave, the film stars Sachin Pilgaonkar, Shankar Mahadevan, and Subodh Bhave in lead roles. The film marks the directorial debut for Bhave, and the theatrical acting debut for Shankar Mahadevan. The original play, written by Purushottam Darvhekar, premiered in 1967 in Mumbai, where Hindustani classical vocalist Vasantrao Deshpande played one of the protagonists. In 2010, the play was relaunched with protagonists essayed by Rahul Deshpande, grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande and singer Mahesh Kale. The film's music is composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and retained some of the songs from the original play composed by Jitendra Abhisheki.
Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a Marathi musical play, originally released in 1967. The play gained such popularity that more than 1,000 shows were staged in a very short period. The play was written by Purushottam Darvhekar. The story depicts clash of two gharanas (schools) of Indian classical music. Pt. Jeetendra Abhisheki composed the padas.

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is the soundtrack to the 2015 Marathi film of the same name directed by Subodh Bhave based on the 1967 stage play by Purushottam Darvhekar. The film features 17 songs—which included original songs composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and the recreations of original music from the play composed by Jitendra Abhisheki and written by Darvhekar. The original songs had lyrics written by Sameer Samant, Mangesh Kangane, Mandar Cholkar and Prakash Kapadia. The soundtrack was released by Zee Music Company on 16 October 2015.

It is jointly produced by Jio Studios and Shree Ganesh Marketing And Films, Sangeet Manapmaan is an adaptation of the classic play of the same name by Krishnaji Prabhakar Khadilkar. Sudheer Palsane handled the cinematography and editing was performed by Ashish Mhatre.
