Chervonosilske is a village in Amvrosiivka district, Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. [1]
During the war in eastern Ukraine the village fell into the combat zone. [2] On 29 August 2014, during the move back from IIovaisk, pro-Russian separatists troops with the support of the regular Russian army began shooting on Ukrainian Armed forces in the "green corridor". [ citation needed ]
On 30 August 2014 combatants of the Ukrainian volunteer battalion were allegedly captured in Chervonosilske village by militants from Russian military forces and were held in captivity of "pro-Russian rebels in the city of Donetsk." [3] Also, on the outskirts of Chervonosilske a fire engine ran on the position of the Russian T-72 (sixth separate tank brigade of the Russian Armed Forces), a tank fired direct fire. [4] The soldiers of the volunteer battalion "Donbass" were disarmed by Russian paratroopers and handed to the pro-Russian rebels which were torturing them. There were a lot of captured Russian regular army soldiers which were handed over to representatives of the Russian command on the morning of August 30, 2014 in Chervonosilske. [5] [6] [7]
The 93rd Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar" is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It has been described as "one of the most brutally effective" of Ukraine’s front-line brigades. By January 2023, Western analysts claimed that due to captured Russian and donated Western equipment and incorporation of local volunteer battalions into the units structure, the 93rd was the size of an armored division, being a mechanized brigade in name only. The brigade is named after the Kholodnyi Yar Republic, a Ukrainian partisan state during the Ukrainian War of Independence.
The People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic and People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic are pro-Russian paramilitaries in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, under the overall control of the Russian Federation. They are also referred to as Russian separatist forces or Russian proxy forces. They were affiliated with the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) during the war in Donbas (2014–2022), the first stage of the Russo-Ukrainian War. They then supported the Russian Armed Forces against the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the 2022 Russian invasion. In September 2022, Russia annexed the DPR and LPR, and began integrating the paramilitaries into its armed forces. They are designated as terrorist groups by the government of Ukraine.
The Battle of Ilovaisk started on 7 August 2014, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine and pro-Ukrainian paramilitaries began a series of attempts to capture the city of Ilovaisk from pro-Russian insurgents affiliated with the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and detachments of the Russian Armed Forces. Although Ukrainian forces were able to enter the city on 18 August, they were encircled between 24 and 26 August by overwhelming Russian military forces that crossed the border, joining the battle. After days of encirclement, Ukrainian forces rejected the DPR's proposal to open a humanitarian corridor on the condition that they abandon their armored vehicles and ammunition, and on the morning of 29 August 2014 began to leave Ilovaisk with their weapons. The Russian side opened fire on the evacuating Ukrainian soldiers, many of whom died whilst trying to escape.
The Sich Battalion, officially known as the 4th Sich Company of the Kyiv Regiment, is a Ukrainian special police battalion consisting of volunteers from Kyiv. The unit was formed in June 2014 by volunteers from the far-right party Svoboda at the start of the war in Donbas.

The Great Raid of 2014, also known as the Raid of the 95th Brigade, took place from July 19 to August 10, 2014, during the war in eastern Ukraine. Aerorozvidka is a team and NGO that promotes creating and implementing netcentric and robotic military capabilities for the security and defense forces of Ukraine.
