Colin Ray Jackson, is a Welsh former sprint and hurdling athlete who specialised in the 110 metres hurdles. During a career in which he represented Great Britain and Wales, he won an Olympic silver medal, became world champion twice, world indoor champion once, was undefeated at the European Championships for 12 years and was twice Commonwealth champion. His world record of 12.91 seconds for the 110 m hurdles stood for over 10 years and his 60 metres hurdles world record stood for nearly 27 years.
60 metres, or 60-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field. It is a championship event for indoor championships, normally dominated by the best outdoor 100 metres runners. At indoor events, the 60 metres is run on lanes set out in the middle of the 'field', as is the hurdles event over the same distance, thus avoiding some of the effects of the banked track encircling the venue, upon which other track events in indoor events are run. At outdoor venues it is a rare distance, at least for senior athletes. The format of the event is similar to other sprint distances. The sprinters follow three initial instructions: 'on your marks', instructing them to take up position in the starting blocks; 'set', instructing them to adopt a more efficient starting posture, which also isometrically preloads their muscles. This will enable them to start faster. The final instruction is the firing of the starter's pistol. Upon hearing this the sprinters stride forwards from the blocks.
The 110 metres hurdles, or 110-metre hurdles, is a hurdling track and field event for men. It is included in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympic Games. The female counterpart is the 100 metres hurdles. As part of a racing event, ten hurdles of 42 inches (106.7 cm) in height are evenly spaced along a straight course of 110 metres. They are positioned so that they will fall over if bumped into by the runner. Fallen hurdles do not carry a fixed time penalty for the runners, but they have a significant pull-over weight which slows down the run. Like the 100 metres sprint, the 110 metres hurdles begins in the starting blocks.
The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track.
Karsten Warholm is a Norwegian sprinter who competes in the 400 metres and 400 m hurdles. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic champion, a three-time world champion and the world record holder in the latter event.
Eric Shauwn Brazas Cray is a Filipino-American track and field athlete who competes in sprinting and hurdling events. He represented the Philippines at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, competing in the hurdles. He won gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Cray currently holds the Filipino national record for the 400 metres hurdles and 100 metres.
Ahmed Khader A. Al-Muwallad is a Saudi Arabian athlete specialising in the high hurdles. He won a gold medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and a bronze at the 2017 Asian Championships.
Amir Moradi is an Iranian middle-distance runner who specialises in the 800 metres. He won a bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

Mazen Moutan Al-Yassin is a Saudi Arabian sprinter specialising in the 400 metres. He won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. With the time of 46.35 he is the current Saudi indoor national record holder.
Atchima Eng-Chuan is a Thai sprinter specialising in the 400 metres. She won a bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. She holds the current national indoor record in the 400 metres.
Abderrahman Almoubarrake Samba Alsaleck is a Qatari male track and field athlete who specialises in the 400 metres hurdles. He was born and grew up in Saudi Arabia but chose to represent Mauritania – his father's homeland – before eventually switching allegiance to Qatar and moving to Doha in 2015. He became eligible to compete for his adopted country in May 2016. He was the second person to run the 400m hurdle event in less than 47 seconds.
Jason Joseph is a Swiss athlete specialising in the sprint hurdles. He won a gold medal in the 60 metres hurdles at the 2023 European Indoor Championships. He has been the national champion in the 110 metres hurdles ever since 2019, earning the title consecutively five times in a row, and holds national records in both events. He also reached the semi-finals of the 2020 Olympics.
Lui Lai Yiu is an athlete from Hong Kong specialising in the sprint hurdles. She won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. She also won a gold medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
Pratchaya Tepparak is a Thai athlete specialising in the triple jump. He won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
