This is a list of Chief Executive Members of the Bodoland Territorial Council, the leader of the Bodoland Territorial Council, the autonomous district council for the Bodoland Territorial Region in India.

The chief executive chairs meetings of the Executive Committee of the Bodoland Territorial Council.

The Bodoland Territorial Council was established in 2003 and Hagrama Mohilary was the first person to hold the position of Chief Executive Member, doing so until 27 April 2020. [1] [2]

The council was under Governor's rule between 27 April 2020 and 15 December 2020 following the postponement of elections scheduled for 4 April 2020 a result of the global coronavirus pandemic. [3] [4]

The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), informally Bodoland, is an autonomous region and a proposed state in Assam, Northeast India. It is made up of five districts on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river below the foothills of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh. It is administered by an elected body known as the Bodoland Territorial Council which came into existence under the terms of a peace agreement signed in February 2003 and its autonomy was further extended by an agreement signed in January 2020. The agreement materialised as a result of the efforts taken by a naval veteran – Cdr. Robin Sharma (retd.), who is now the present president of the Bodoland. The region covers an area of over nine thousand square kilometres and is predominantly inhabited by the Bodo people and other indigenous communities of Assam.

Kokrajhar is a town in the Bodoland Territorial Region, an autonomous territory in Assam, one of the North Eastern states of India.

The Bodo Liberation Tigers Force, also known as the Bodo Liberation Tigers, was an armed militant group that operated in the Bodo dominated regions of Assam, India. The BLTF was founded on 18 June 1996 by Prem Singh Brahma and Hagrama Mohilary. Hagrama Mohilary was the chief of the outfit.

Hagrama Mohilary is an Indian politician who has served as the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council. Mohilary was elected as the Chief of Executive Committee of the Bodoland Territorial Council which comprises thirteen other executive members. At present, he is the chairperson of the Bodoland People's Front, Mohilary had been the head of Bodoland Territorial Council since its inception in 2003. He won the third General Assembly Elections 2015 and formed his Government for the third time. Mohilary's third term expired on 27 April 2020 and following the postponement of elections scheduled for 4 April 2020 a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, Mohilary was the chief of the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) before joining the mainstream politics in 2003.

Biswajit Daimary is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. He is current speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly. He represented Assam in Rajya Sabha as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and as a member of the Bodoland People's Front. He was first elected as Member of Assam Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2006 and later elected as Member of Parliament to Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2014. He was elected for second term from 2014 to 2020 as a member of Bodoland People's Front and from 2021 as a member of the BJP. In November 2020, Daimary left BPF to join Bharatiya Janata Party before Bodoland Territorial Council elections. On 21 November 2020, Daimary resigned from the Rajya Sabha. He was re-elected on 23 February 2021.

The North-East Democratic Alliance or NEDA is a political coalition that was formed on May 24, 2016, by Bharatiya Janata Party. The motive of the new political front was to protect the interest of the people of the region as well as uniting non-Congress parties in Northeast India. Himanta Biswa Sarma was appointed as the convenor of the front.

Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup is a football league cup in the Bodoland Territorial Region, Assam, India, organised by Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in memory of Bodoland martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Bodoland movement.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2015 Bodoland Territorial Council election</span>

The 2015 Bodoland Territorial Council election was held on Wednesday, 8 April 2015 to elect the 3rd council of the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts. All 40 seats in the legislative assembly were set up for election. Bodoland People's Front won the election for the third consecutive term by winning 20 seats and 28.5 percentage of votes. BPF also lost 11 seats in contrast to last election in which they won 31 seats.

He was the former president of All Bodo Students Union. Pramod Boro was born to Late Ghanashyam Boro. He is a resident of Tamulpur, Baksa district.

Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council, (BKWAC), is an autonomous council in the Indian state of Assam, for the development and protection of ethnic Bodo-Kachari people living in villages outside the Bodoland Territorial Region. It was formed in 2020.

Constitution of India with provisions as per Article 324 ensures creation and safeguarding of the powers of Election Commission. Assam State Election Commission is responsible for conducting elections for Urban Local Bodies like Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, Panchayats and any other specified by Election Commission of India. Assam State Election Commissioner is appointed by Governor of Assam.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Third Tarun Gogoi Ministry</span> Government of Assam

Tarun Gogoi constituted his ministry for the 3rd time on 30 May 2011. He had previously been Chief Minister from 2001. Following the 2011 Assam Legislative Assembly election, Gogoi became Chief Minister for the third time as he had formed his first and second ministries previously. There were 17 congress ministers and 1 BPF minister. The cabinet had 18 members, with 13 cabinet ministers and 4 ministers of state with independent charge.
