South Korea competed as Korea at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Athletes from North and South Korea marched together in the opening ceremony under the Korean Unification Flag. 281 competitors, 175 men and 106 women, took part in 144 events in 26 sports.

Viktor An, is a South Korean-born Russian short-track speed skating coach and retired short-track speed skater. He has the most Olympic gold medals in the sport, three of which he won in the 2006 Winter Olympics and the other three in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Considered to be the greatest short track speed skater of all time, he is a six-time overall World champion, two-time overall World Cup winner, and the 2014 European champion. He holds the most overall titles at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, and is the only male short track skater to win five consecutive world titles.

The South Korea men's national volleyball team represents South Korea in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Korea Volleyball Association. The Republic of Korea (ROK) has competed in the Olympic Games eight times, but has not featured since the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The national team's best performance at the Olympic Games was 5th place at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, California, United States. The national team at the FIVB World Championship competed nine times, with their best result at 4th place in 1978. On continental level, The national team won three gold medals at the Asian Games in 1978, 2002 and 2006. And at the Asian Championship, the national team won four gold medals, two of these was at home in 1989 Seoul and 2001 Changwon and the other two are in 1993 and 2003. The national team now ranks 28th in the FIVB World Rankings.
Choi Min-ho, known mononymously as Minho, is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter and actor. In May 2008, he debuted as a member of South Korean boy band Shinee which later became one of the best-selling Korean artists. Aside from group activities, he debuted as an actor in November 2010 in KBS2's drama special Pianist. He has since landed roles in television series such as Salamander Guru and The Shadows (2012), To the Beautiful You (2012), Medical Top Team (2013), My First Time (2015), and Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016). He made his feature film debut in 2016 with Canola. As a soloist, he has released the digital singles "I'm Home" (2019) and "Heartbreak" (2021). He released his debut solo EP Chase in 2022.

Reflection of You is a South Korean television series directed by Lim Hyeon-wook and starring Go Hyun-jung, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Jae-young, Choi Won-young, and Kim Sang-ho. Based on a novel by writer Jung So-hyeon, the series tells the story of a woman who leaves the conditioned lifestyle of 'wife and mother' for a brief period and becomes faithful to her desires, and another woman who comes in contact with her in that short span and loses the light of her life. It premiered on JTBC on October 13, 2021, and aired every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:30 KST till December 2. The series is available for streaming on Netflix.
