Chris Odom (born September 16, 1994) is an American football defensive end for the Houston Roughnecks of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Arkansas State. Odom has also been a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Salt Lake Stallions, Washington Redskins, Calgary Stampeders, and Cleveland Browns. With the Houston Gamblers, he led the USFL in sacks and was named its Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.
Odom played high school football at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas. He recorded 32 tackles his senior year, earning all-district honors as a defensive end. He also participated in the school's track and field program.
Odom played for the Arkansas State Red Wolves from 2013 to 2016. [1] He played in all 13 games in 2013, recording 8 solo tackles, 9 tackle assists and 3 sacks. [2] He played in all 13 games, starting 3, in 2014, totaling 12 solo tackles, 2 tackle assists, 1 sack, 2 pass breakups and 1 blocked kick. [1] [3] Odom played in 11 games in 2015, recording 1 solo tackles, 2 tackle assists and 3 blocked kicks. [4] His three blocked kicks were tied for the third most in school history for a single season. [1] He played in all 13 games in 2016, totaling 28 solo tackles, 25 tackle assists, 12.5 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles and 1 blocked kick, earning First-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. [5] [6] Odom participated in the College Gridiron Showcase in January 2017. [7] His five career blocked kicks were the second most in school history. Odom was rated the 41st best defensive end in the 2017 NFL draft by NFLDraftScout.com. [9]

After going undrafted, Odom signed with the Atlanta Falcons on May 1, 2017. [10] He was waived by the Falcons on September 2, 2017. [11]
Odom was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on September 3, 2017. [12]
On September 1, 2018, Odom was waived by the Packers. [13]
In late 2018, Odom joined the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). [14] Odom recorded 7 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 8 quarterback hits, and 2 pass knockdowns during his time in the AAF. [15]
On April 15, 2019, Odom signed a two-year contract with the Falcons. [16] He was waived on August 31, 2019. [17]
Odom signed with the Washington Redskins' practice squad on September 2, 2019. [18] He was released on October 8, 2019. He was re-signed on November 20. He was promoted to the active roster on November 30, 2019. [19] In week 13 against the Carolina Panthers, Odom sacked quarterback Kyle Allen twice, one of which was a strip sack which was recovered by teammate Nate Orchard late in the fourth quarter to seal a 29–21 win. [20] Odom finished the season with 10 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble in only 47 defensive snaps. [21] He was released on February 14, 2020. [22]
Odom signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League on February 2, 2021. [23] Odom made the practice roster and did dress for three games for Calgary, but was ultimately released on November 29, 2021.
Odom was drafted by the Houston Gamblers by the United States Football League (USFL) in the second round (12th overall) of the 2022 USFL draft. [24]
Odom was signed by the Cleveland Browns on August 5, 2022. [25] He was placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament on August 29. [26]
On December 26, 2023, Odom re-signed with the Gamblers. [27]
Odom and all other Gamblers players and coaches were all transferred to the Houston Roughnecks after it was announced that the Gamblers took on the identity of their XFL counterpart, the Roughnecks. [28] He was named to the 2024 All-UFL team on June 5, 2024. [29]

Odom's father, Cliff, also played in the NFL and was drafted by the Browns in the 3rd round of the 1980 NFL draft. [1]
John Thomas O'Sullivan is an American former professional football quarterback who played nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL), two seasons in NFL Europe and one season in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the UC Davis Aggies, starting for three years and throwing for career totals of 10,745 yards and 96 touchdowns. He was named a first-team All-American in 2000 and a second-team All-American in 2001. He was inducted into the Cal Aggie Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008.

He played in 39 games during his college career, recording 60 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Heath played for the Houston Texans from 2016 to 2019, and was a member of the Denver Broncos in 2020 and the Detroit Lions in 2021.
Corey Moore is a former American football safety. He lettered in football, basketball and track at Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia. In football, he earned SuperPrep All-American honors and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He then played college football at Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman. Moore played in 50 games during his college career, recording 76 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and three pass breakups. He signed with the Houston Texans after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft. He played in one game for the Texans in 2015, started eight games in 2016 and started three games in 2017.
Jordan Cornell Williams is a former American football linebacker. He played his senior season of high school football at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Florida. He played college football at Tennessee for four years. Williams played in 44 games, of which he started 21, during his college career, recording 66 tackles and 6.5 sacks. After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft, he signed with the New York Jets and spent time on the team's practice squad before being released in September 2015. He was then signed by the Miami Dolphins, where he spent time on both the practice squad and active roster, before being released in September 2016. He was then signed to the Giants' practice squad in December 2016.
Steven Longa is a Cameroonian former professional American football linebacker. He played football at Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he earned All-State honors his senior year. He played college football at Rutgers, where he was a three-year letterman. In 2013, Longa was named a Freshman All-American after leading NCAA Division I in tackles by a freshman with 123. He was named Third Team All-Big Ten Conference in 2015. He started 37 games during his college career and recorded 342 tackles, which was the third most in school history. Longa forwent his final year of college eligibility to enter the 2016 NFL draft. After going undrafted, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released by the Seahawks before the start of the season and was then signed by the Detroit Lions.
Jarrod Wesley Pughsley is a former American football offensive guard. He played football and basketball at Lima Senior High School in Lima, Ohio. He played college football at Akron, where he was a four-year letterman. Pughsley was named Third-team All-MAC his senior year in 2013. He played in 35 games, and started 23 of them, during his college career. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys. However, Pughsley suffered an injury and was released in July 2014. He was then a member of the Kansas City Chiefs from 2014 to 2016, spending the majority of the time on the practice squad. He played in two regular season games and one playoff game for the Chiefs in 2015. Pughsley was signed to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad in November 2016 and was released by the team before the start of the 2017 regular season.
Thomas Sidney Sims is an American football coach and former defensive tackle. He is the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for Wayne State University, a position he has held since 2023. He also played four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL draft. He first played college football for the Broncos of Western Michigan University before transferring to play for the Pittsburgh Panthers of the University of Pittsburgh. He attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan.
