Christopher Clark Spencer (born March 28, 1982) is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected with the 26th overall pick in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft out of the University of Mississippi by the Seattle Seahawks. He also played for the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans.
Spencer was born in Madison, Mississippi. He was part of the nationally ranked and undefeated Madison Central High School in the Madison football team in 2000, which contained 5 current NFL players. After his prep career, he was one of the most highly touted offensive line recruits in the Southeast. His home ties led him to choose the University of Mississippi, where he played alongside Madison Central teammates Doug Buckles and Mike Espy (of the Washington Redskins). During the 2003 season, the Ole Miss Rebels had an impressive campaign, winning 10 games concluded with a Cotton Bowl Classic victory over Oklahoma State.
Spencer was considered one of the best centers available in the 2005 NFL draft, along with Jason Brown. He was projected a late second round pick, [1] and was eventually selected 26th overall in the first round. [2]

In his first season with the Seattle Seahawks, he played 7 games. In the 2006 season, he played in all 16 games for Seattle, starting 13 of them, most at the guard position, next to longtime Seattle center Robbie Tobeck. Spencer succeeded Tobeck as starting center for the 2007 season, as Tobeck had retired at the end of 2006.
On July 31, 2011, he was signed by the Chicago Bears to replace the outgoing Olin Kreutz. [4] During the 2011 season, Spencer alternated between center and guard with Roberto Garza. [5] In Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, Spencer subbed for Lance Louis, but would himself go out of the game with a hand injury. [6]
On November 22, 2012, Spencer was named as the Bears starting guard after Chilo Rachal was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. [7]
On April 1, 2013, Spencer signed with the Tennessee Titans. [8] On April 2, 2014, Spencer re-signed with the Titans on a new one-year deal. [9]
In 2006, he married Coastal Carolina Elite volleyball player Katherine Jensen. [10]
Matthew Michael Hasselbeck is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons, primarily with the Seattle Seahawks. He played college football for the Boston College Eagles and was selected in the sixth round of the 1998 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers. After a season on the practice squad and two seasons backing up Brett Favre, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2001, where he spent the majority of his career. Hasselbeck led Seattle to six playoff appearances, including the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance during the 2005 season. He was selected to three Pro Bowls in his career. Hasselbeck also played for the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts. He is a former analyst for ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown.
Kevin James Mawae is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. Mawae played college football for the LSU Tigers, earning first-team All-SEC honors. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 1994 NFL draft. After joining the New York Jets in 1998, he received six consecutive Pro Bowl selections and five-first All-Pro honors during his eight seasons with the team. Mawae spent his final four seasons as a member of the Tennessee Titans, extending his Pro Bowl selections to eight and his first-team All-Pro honors to seven. Near the end of his career, he also served two terms as NFLPA president from 2008 to 2012.
Jason Raynard Peters is an American professional football offensive tackle who is a free agent. He played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks and was signed as a tight end by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent after the 2004 NFL draft. He was later traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 and spent the next twelve seasons playing for them, before joining the Chicago Bears in 2021, the Dallas Cowboys in 2022, and the Seattle Seahawks in 2023. He is currently the oldest active NFL player.
Olin George Kreutz is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. He played college football for University of Washington, and earned consensus All-American honors. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft and spent 13 seasons with Chicago where he was selected to six Pro Bowls. He also played four games for the New Orleans Saints in 2011. Kreutz was a semi-finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame in 2020 after being named to the 2000s All-Decade Team.
Steven John Hutchinson is an American former professional football player who was a guard for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines, and was named a unanimous All-American. The Seattle Seahawks selected him in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft, and he also played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
Andre Bernard Gurode is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive line coach for the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL). He played as a center and guard in the National Football League (NFL). Gurode played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes, earning consensus All-American honors. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2002 NFL draft. During his eight seasons with Dallas, he was named to five Pro Bowls. In his final three seasons, Gurode spent one year each with the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, and Oakland Raiders.
Robert Lee Tobeck is an American former professional football player who was a center for fourteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Tobeck played seven seasons for the Seattle Seahawks after being acquired as a free agent from the Atlanta Falcons after signing as a rookie in 1993.
Steve Vallos is a former American football center in the National Football League (NFL). He was most recently on the roster for the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL draft. He was an All-American at Wake Forest.
Gregory Walter Olsen is an American football sportscaster and former tight end who played for 14 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and was selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft. Olsen also played for the Carolina Panthers, with whom he made three Pro Bowls, and became the first tight end in NFL history to record three consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards.
