Christian Sturm (born 18 January 1978 in Andernach, West Germany) is a German tenor.
He began his training as a singer at the University of music and dramatic arts in Graz, Austria, before moving to the University of music and performing arts in Munich, studying firstly with Helmut Deutsch, Daphne Evangelatos, and Christian Gerhaher.
His operatic début was as Acis in Handels Acis and Galatea on the steps of the Pergamon Altar in Berlin alongside Annette Dasch. He has sung in numerous productions at the Prinzregententheater and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich: Purcell's King Arthur (production: Claus Guth), Handel's Rodrigo – Giuliano – and Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream – Lysander, Cavallis La Didone – Aeneas, and Belfiore in Mozart's Gärtnerin aus Liebe (production: Christian Pöppelreiter).
As a freelance artist he has performed at the Nationaltheater Weimar, at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, among others. Sturm is a regular guest at the Wagner Festival in Austria appearing in Tristan und Isolde , Parsifal , Tannhäuser , and Der fliegende Holländer .
His repertoire extends from Agostino Steffani and Johann Simon Mayr to Erich Korngold, as well as the world premiere of operas for the ADevantgarde Festival in Munich and the Opera Wuppertal.
Recordings include Steffani's Stabat Mater and Le Triomphe de la Paix by Pietro Torri, the Richard Strauss adaption of Mozart's Idomeneo as well as several productions for the WDR Köln.

John Mark Ainsley is an English lyric tenor. Known for his supple voice, Ainsley is particularly admired for his interpretations of baroque music and the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the course of his career, he has gravitated towards 20th-century music, singing in operas by Henze, Janáček, and Britten.
Acis and Galatea is a musical work by George Frideric Handel with an English text by John Gay. The work has been variously described as a serenata, a masque, a pastoral or pastoral opera, a "little opera", an entertainment and by the New Grove Dictionary of Music as an oratorio. The work was originally devised as a one-act masque which premiered in 1718.

The Boston Early Music Festival (BEMF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. to promote historical music performance. It presents an annual concert series in Boston and New York City, produces opera recordings, and organizes a weeklong Festival and Exhibition every two years in Boston. A centerpiece of these festivals has been a fully staged Baroque opera production. One of BEMF's main goals is to unearth lesser-known Baroque operas, which are then performed by the world's leading musicians armed with the latest information on period singing, orchestral performance, costuming, dance, and staging at each biennial Festival. BEMF operas are led by the BEMF Artistic Directors Paul O’Dette and Stephen Stubbs, BEMF Orchestra Director Robert Mealy, and BEMF Opera Director Gilbert Blin. In 2008, BEMF introduced its Chamber Opera Series as part of its annual concert season. The series presents semi-staged productions of chamber operas composed during the Baroque period. In 2011, BEMF took its chamber production of Handel's Acis and Galatea on a four-city North-American tour. In 2004, BEMF initiated a project to record some of its work in the field of Baroque opera on the CPO recording label. The series has since earned five Grammy Award nominations, including a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording.

Its tessitura, or comfortable range, is normally defined by the outermost lines of the bass clef. Categories of bass voices vary according to national style and classification system.
Catherine Foster is an English operatic soprano, who has appeared internationally, mostly in European opera houses. Her repertoire has focused on dramatic soprano roles in stage works by Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner, such as the title role of Elektra, and Brünnhilde in Der Ring des Nibelungen, a role which she performed at the Bayreuth Festival in 2013 for Wagner's bicentenary.

It was founded in May 2012 by Paola Cuffolo and Nick Simpson, and was granted charitable status in August 2013 to increase public accessibility to the art form and to provide performance and work experience in staged opera productions for singers, instrumentalists, conductors, directors and technical crew in the early stages of their careers. The company's first two productions were staged in collaboration with St Peter's College Opera at Oxford University.

She became internationally known appearing as Brangäne at the Bayreuth Festival in 1994, and performed the soprano part of Isolde on stage first in 2012.

He focused first on lied and oratorio, then entered the opera stage in roles such as Handel's Tabarco and Mozart's Pedrillo. From 2007, he also performed roles such as Wagner's Siegmund and at international opera houses and festivals.

Claus Guth is a German theatre director, focused on opera. He has directed operas at major houses and festivals, including world premieres such as works of the Munich Biennale, and Berio's Cronaca del luogo at the Salzburg Festival in 1999. Guth is particularly known for his opera productions of the works of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. He has received two Faust awards, for Daphne by Richard Strauss in 2010, and for Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande, both at the Oper Frankfurt.
