The World Figure Skating Championships ("Worlds") is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the categories of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.
Carlo Fassi was an Italian figure skater and international coach whose students included several World and Olympic champions. As a single skater, he was the 1953 World bronze medalist, a two-time European champion, and a ten-time Italian national champion (1945–54).
Tanja Szewczenko is a German former figure skater and occasional actress. She is the 1994 World bronze medalist, 1997 Champions Series Final silver medalist, 1998 European bronze medalist, and 1993 World Junior bronze medalist.
Marika Kilius is a German former pair skater. With Hans-Jürgen Bäumler, she is a two-time Olympic silver medalist, a two-time World champion, and a six-time European champion. Earlier in her career, she competed with Franz Ningel.

Marina Kielmann is a German former competitive figure skater. She is a four-time European Championship medallist, the 1994 Nations Cup champion and a three-time German national champion (1991–93). She competed at two Winter Olympics and finished fourth at the 1994 World Figure Skating Championships. She was also a three-time World Championship medallist in roller skating.

The 1972 European Figure Skating Championships was a senior-level international competition held at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden on January 11–15. Elite senior-level figure skaters from European ISU member nations competed for the title of European Champion in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.
Andreas Nischwitz is a former West German pair skater. He was born in Leinfelden, Germany. With partner Susanne Scheibe, he won the gold medal at the German Figure Skating Championships in 1977 and 1978, finishing eighth at both the European Figure Skating Championships and World Figure Skating Championships in both years. He then teamed with Christina Riegel and won the German title three straight years, starting in 1979. They finished eighth at the 1980 Winter Olympics, and the following year, the pair won the silver medal at the European Championships and the bronze at the World Championships.
Karel Jiri Jan Josef Fajfr is a German figure skating coach based in Oberstdorf and a former pair skater for Czechoslovakia.

Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. It was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The 2014 Russian Figure Skating Championships was held from 24–27 December 2013 in Sochi. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The results were among the criteria used to select Russia's teams sent to the 2014 Winter Olympics, the 2014 World Championships, and the 2014 European Championships.
Annika Maria Hocke is a German pair skater. With her skating partner, Robert Kunkel, she is the 2023 European bronze medalist, 2022 Grand Prix de France bronze medalist, and has won three medals on the ISU Challenger Series, including gold at the 2022 CS Finlandia Trophy. They won two bronze medals on the 2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix series. Domestically they are the 2023 German national champions.
Belinda Noonan, née Coulthard is an Australian former competitive figure skater. Competing in ladies' singles, she won silver at the 1977 Golden Spin of Zagreb, bronze at a 1978 competition in Heerenveen, and the Australian national title during the 1979–1980 season.

Rebecca Ghilardi is an Italian pair skater. With her skating partner, Filippo Ambrosini, she is the 2023 European silver medalist, 2022 Grand Prix of Espoo champion, a six-time ISU Challenger Series medalist, and a five-time Italian national silver medalist (2019-2023). The pair represented Italy at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
