Christina Steinbrecher-Pfandt (born 1983) is an international art curator and director. She was appointed as CEO of Tech-Diplomacy.org network in March 2023. Before she was the co-founder together with Micha Anthenor Benoliel of Blockchain.art, a digital platform for artists and collectors. She was part of the founding team that rebranded Austria’s biggest contemporary art fair, viennacontemporary.
Christina Steinbrecher was born in Kazakhstan to German-Ukrainian parents, and speaks German, Russian and English, fluently. She moved to Cologne, Germany in 1990 where she attended Kaiserin-Augusta-Schule . She studied international business at Maastricht University, Netherlands. She wnet on to receive her Master of Science in Contemporary Art from Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, where she majored in Moscow Contemporary Arts in the 1990s. [1] She is married to Stefan Oliver Pfandt. Together, they have two daughters. [2]
In 2008, Steinbrecher-Pfandt moved to Moscow, Russia to run Volker Diehl Gallery. [3] Later that year she helped to realize the Jeremy Deller show From One Revolution to Another, [4] held at Palais de Tokyo. That same year, she co-curated the show Laughterlife with Maria Baibakova.
In 2009, she became artistic director of Art Moscow Art Fair, heading the fair until 2012. [5] [6] In that time Steinbrecher-Pfandt curated art shows and art directed projects throughout Europe and Russia including, Moscow House of Artists , Venice Biennale, Moscow Biennale, Artbat Fest, and for the Innovation Prize of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts.
Between 2012 and 2014, she and Vita Zaman were appointed artistic directors of VIENNAFAIR. [7] [8] [9] Two years later the duo, together with managing director Renger van den Heuvel, helped rebrand VIENNAFAIR as viennacontemporary and moved the annual exhibition to the historic market hall Marx Halle. [10] While fulfilling her duties at viennacontemporary she also curated the 2013 exhibition Rhythm Assignment [11] at the Bonnefantenmuseum.
Steinbrecher-Pfandt assumed a leading role at viennacontemporary in 2016, expanding the fair’s international presence. [12] She is credited with sharpening the fair’s profile [13] and for positioning it as the “gateway to the East.” [14] [15] In 2018, Steinbrecher-Pfandt was named “40 under 40” by Apollo magazine for her role in advancing contemporary art in Vienna. [16] Later that year, she resigned from viennacontemporary and moved to San Francisco to "help bridge the gap between art and tech" with the launch of Blockchain.art. [17]
In 2019 she began serving in an advisory role to the festival Ars Electronica. She sits on the boards of the Armenia Art Foundation, [18] the Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art, Artbat Fest, and CADAF Fair, as well as giving talks about art in the digital age.[ citation needed ]

Kris Lemsalu is a contemporary artist based in Tallinn, Estonia and Vienna, Austria. She studied art at the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Eccentric with color and material, she uses props, costumes, and other natural materials to portray her artwork. In these installations, Lemsalu sculpts an installation that "gives birth to a world of shamanic force, visionary weirdness, and collective revival." By playing with traditions, Lemsalu blurs the origin and scenically removes their dogma. She avoids "concrete labeling, simultaneously showing us the absurdity of as well as the effectiveness of rituals. From this collective transformative euphoria emerges a belief in the possibility of human redemption." "A punk pagan trickster feminist sci-fi shaman, Kris Lemsalu gathers together both collected and crafted objects into totemic sculptures and hallucinatory environments, animated with performances by the artist and her coterie of collaborators;" her work being shown in many places, including Berlin, Copenhagen and Tokyo. In 2015, she participated in Frieze Art Fair New York, where her work Whole Alone 2 was selected among of five best exhibits by the Frieze New York jury.
viennacontemporary is an international fair for contemporary art in Vienna, Austria. From 2015 to 2020 it took place annually in the fourth week of September at the Marx Halle, located in St. Marx, a part of Vienna's third district. In 2021, the fair took place at Neue Alte Post in Vienna. Since 2022, viennacontemporary regularly takes place in September in Kursalon Vienna in Stadtpark in the center of Vienna. Besides its focus on Central- and Eastern Europe, viennacontemporary presents international and Austrian galleries showcasing young and established positions of contemporary art.

Maha Maamoun, is an Egyptian award-winning visual artist and curator based in Cairo. Susanna Gyulamiryan, Armenian curator, art critic and feminist scholar. She is the appointed curator of the Pavilion of the Republic of Armenia at 58th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia (2019). Gyulamiryan is co-founder and the president of the non-governmental organization “Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory” (ACSL), and artistic director of the “Art Commune” International Artist-in-Residence Program.
