The Neue Zürcher Zeitung is a Swiss, German-language daily newspaper, published by NZZ Mediengruppe in Zürich. The paper was founded in 1780. It was described as having a reputation as a high-quality newspaper, as the Swiss-German newspaper of record, and for objective and detailed reports on international affairs.

Jennifer Hohl is a retired Swiss professional road cyclist. She represented Switzerland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and later earned three Swiss national championship titles in the women's elite road race. Before retiring to focus primarily on her family life and business career, Hohl rode for three seasons on the Bigla Cycling Team since 2006, followed by her short, annual stints on Germany's Noris Cycling and Italy's Mcipollini–Giordana and Faren–Honda Team.
Petra Henzi is a retired Swiss professional mountain biker. Throughout her sporting career, she has won numerous Swiss national championship titles, and more importantly, a total of four prestigious medals in women's cross-country race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. Henzi later represented her nation Switzerland, as a 38-year-old senior, at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and also rode professionally for more than five seasons on Fischer-BMC Team, before retiring from the sport in early 2010.
Nathalie Jessica Schneitter is a Swiss professional mountain biker. Throughout her sporting career, she has won numerous Swiss national championship titles, and more importantly, a gold medal in the under-23 category at the 2008 European Mountain Bike Championships. Schneitter also handed an opportunity to represent her nation Switzerland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and later rode professionally for more than five seasons on an exclusive sponsorship contract with the Colnago Team.
Tuula Tenkanen is a Finnish sailor, who specialized in one-person dinghy class. She represented her nation Finland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Lena Göldi is a Swiss retired judoka who competed in the women's lightweight category. She held six Swiss senior titles in her own division, picked up a total of thirty medals in her career, including a silver from the 2003 European Judo Championships in Düsseldorf, and represented Switzerland as a lone female judoka at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Throughout most of her sporting career, Goeldi trained for the Biel Judo Club in Biel, and also became a full-fledged member of the Swiss national judo squad, under head coach and sensei Leo Held.
Maciej Tadeusz Grabowski is a Polish sailor, who specialized in the Laser class. He had an impressive track record of two career European titles, and finished only in the top 16 in three editions of the Olympic Games, representing his nation Poland. Throughout his sporting career, Grabowski trained for Hestia Sopot Sailing Club and then became a member of the Polish Sailing Association under head coach Tomasz Chamera. As of June 2015, Grabowski is ranked outside the top 200 for the Laser class by the International Sailing Federation.

Anders Nyholm-Pedersen is a Danish former sailor, who specialized in the Laser class. He bagged won a silver medal in the Laser Radial class at the 2000 ISAF Youth World Championships in Çeşme, Turkey and later represented his native country Denmark in two editions of the Olympic Games.
Lo Man Yi is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She captured the gold medal in her signature boat at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, Philippines and eventually represented Singapore at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Lo trained throughout her sporting career for the Singapore Sailing Federation, under the tutelage of her personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.
Katarzyna Szotyńska, also known as Katarzyna Deberny, is a Polish former sailor who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She represented her country Poland at the 2008 Summer Olympics and came closest to the medal haul in the final race of her signature fleet, finishing in ninth place. Outside her Olympic career, Szotyńska collected a total of five gold medals in a major international regatta, spanning four editions of the World Championships and the 2005 Summer Universiade in İzmir, Turkey. A senior member of the sailing roster at the University of Warsaw's sport academy, Szotyńska trained most of her competitive sporting career under the tutelage of her personal coach and brother Bartłomiej.
Susana Romero Steensma is a Spanish former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She represented her country Spain at the 2008 Summer Olympics and eventually earned a bronze medal at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy. Romero trained under the tutelage of her personal coach Santi López-Vázquez, while sailing competitively for Gran Canaria Royal Nautical Club.
Ali Kemal Tüfekçi is a Turkish former sailor, who specialized in the Laser and Finn classes. He represented his country Turkey in the single-handed boat at the 2000 Summer Olympics, before switching to a heavyweight version on his second trip to Beijing 2008. Tüfekçi trained throughout his sporting career for Istanbul Sailing Club.
Emmanuelle Rol is a Swiss-born French former sailor, who specialized in the two-person dinghy (470) class. Together with her partner Anne-Sophie Thilo, she was named one of the country's top sailors in the double-handed dinghy for the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in a lowly seventeenth place. Outside her Olympic career, she collected a total of two medals under each different banner at the European Championships. A member of her native Pully's local sailing club, Rol trained most of her sporting career under the federation's head coach for 470, French-born Nicolas Novara.

Etter trained most of his sporting career at Schloss Greifensee Sailing Club in the outskirts of Zürich.

The Centre or Alliance of the Centre is a centre-right political party in Switzerland.
