Christopher P. Azzano is a retired United States Air Force major general who last served as the commander of the Air Force Test Center. Previously, he was the director of air, space, and cyberspace operations of the Air Force Materiel Command. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
He retired from active duty on July 16, 2021 (official retirement date is 1 October 2021) after relinquishing command of the Air Force Test Center to Evan C. Dertien the previous day. [7]

Hill Air Force Base is a major U.S. Air Force base located in northern Utah, just south of the city of Ogden, and near the towns of Layton, Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy, and Sunset. It is about 30 miles (48 km) north of Salt Lake City. The base was named in honor of Major Ployer Peter Hill of the U.S. Army Air Corps, who died test-flying NX13372, the original Model 299 prototype of the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. As of 2018 Hill AFB is the sixth-largest employer in the state of Utah. Hill AFB is the home of the Air Force Materiel Command's (AFMC) Ogden Air Logistics Complex which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software, avionics, and accessories components. The commander of the Air Logistics Complex is Brigadier General C. McCauley von Hoffman. The Ogden Air Logistics Complex is part of the Air Force Sustainment Center.
Roy Dubard Bridges Jr. is an American pilot, engineer, retired United States Air Force officer, test pilot, former NASA astronaut and the former director of NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center and Langley Research Center. As a command pilot, he has over 4,460 flying hours. Bridges, is a decorated veteran of 262 combat missions during Vietnam War. And is now a retired U.S. Air Force major general who served as the director of requirements, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, from June 1993 until his retirement. He is married with two adult children.
Kevin Patrick "Chilli" Chilton is an American mechanical engineer and retired United States Air Force four-star general, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. His last assignment was as commander of U.S. Strategic Command from October 3, 2007, to January 28, 2011. Prior to his appointment to general officer ranks, Chilton spent 11 years of his military career as a NASA astronaut. He retired from the Air Force on February 1, 2011, after having achieved the highest rank of any military astronaut. On January 30, 2012, General Chilton was named to the board of directors of Orbital Sciences Corporation.

The Space Systems Command (SSC) is the United States Space Force acquisitions and development field command and is headquartered at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB), California. It was first established as the Western Development Division on 1 April 1954 and is the oldest space organization in the U.S. Armed Forces. Initially, it had responsibility for ballistic missiles, gaining space responsibilities in 1955. In 1957, it was redesignated as the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division. With the standup of Air Force Systems Command in 1961, the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division was split, forming the Space Systems Division and Ballistic Systems Division. In 1967, they were remerged as the Space and Missiles Systems Organization, before being split again in 1979 into the Space Division and Ballistic Missile Office. In 1990, both organizations regained their former names of the Space Systems Division and Ballistic Systems Division, however the Ballistic Systems Division was renamed the Ballistic Missile Office and subordinated to the Space Systems Division. In 1992, Air Force Systems Command was inactivated and replaced with Air Force Materiel Command, and the Space Systems Division was renamed the Space and Missile Systems Center. In 2001, it was transferred from Air Force Materiel Command to Air Force Space Command, becoming part of the U.S. Space Force at its formation in 2019. The Space and Missile Systems Center was redesignated as Space Systems Command (SSC) on 13 August 2021, elevating it to a full Space Force field command.

The Air Armament Center (AAC) was an Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, responsible for development, acquisition, testing, and deployment of all air-delivered weapons for the U.S. Air Force. Weapon systems maintained by the center included the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile, High-speed anti-radiation missile, HARM Targeting System, Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, Joint Direct Attack Munition, Miniature Air-Launched Decoy, Sensor Fuzed Weapon, and the Small Diameter Bomb. The Air Armament Center was inactivated as an AFMC center on July 18, 2012, and its functions merged into the former 96th Air Base Wing at Eglin AFB. The new organization was renamed as the 96th Test Wing the same day as a subordinate command of the Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
Ellen Marie Pawlikowski is a retired four-star general of the United States Air Force. She last served as the commander of Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from June 8, 2015, to the end of July 2018, managing some 80,000 people and $60 billion in Air Force programs annually. Pawlikowski retired from the Air Force on September 1, 2018, after over 40 years of service. She currently serves on the board of directors for Raytheon Technologies, one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world, and is a Judge Widney Professor at the University of Southern California's Viterbi School of Engineering.
Janet Carol Wolfenbarger is a retired United States Air Force four-star general who served as the eighth commander of Air Force Materiel Command from June 5, 2012, to June 8, 2015. She was the first woman to achieve the rank of four-star general in the Air Force. Wolfenbarger retired from the Air Force after over 35 years of service.

The 96th Test Wing is a United States Air Force unit assigned to the Air Force Test Center of Air Force Materiel Command at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The wing was activated at Eglin in 1994 as the 96th Air Base Wing, the headquarters for all support units on Eglin, the largest installation in the Air Force. In 2012, it absorbed the mission and resources of the 46th Test Wing and added the mission of testing and evaluating weapons, navigation and guidance systems and command and control systems.

The command employs approximately 80,000 people and manages $60 billion of budget authority annually. Before his current assignment, he was the military deputy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at The Pentagon.

Shipton is a major general in the United States Air Force who currently serves as deputy director of the National Reconnaissance Office, having previously served as director of strategic plans, programs, requirements, and analyses, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She previously served as vice commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center of the United States Space Force. She was responsible for assisting the commander in managing the research, design, development, acquisition, and sustainment of space and missile systems, launch, command and control, and operational satellite systems. Shipton was replaced as vice commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center in June 2020 by D. Jason Cothern.

Evan Carleton Dertien is a United States Air Force major general who serves as the commander of the Air Force Test Center. He most recently served as the director for air, space, and cyberspace operations of the Air Force Materiel Command and prior to that served as the commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory. In February 2021, he was confirmed for promotion to major general and assigned to become the commander of the Air Force Test Center, replacing Maj Gen Christopher Azzano. He assumed his present assignment on July 15, 2021.
