History

2012–2015: Formation and major label debut

Chu-Z was formed in July 2012. The initial line-up consisted of seven members: Maia, Asuka, Luna, Kana, Miku, Kaede, and Hatsune. [1] Hatsune graduated from the group on December 26, 2012. Chu-Z released three indie singles in 2013: their debut single "Chu-Z My Life" on February 20, followed by "Chu Me Now!!" on July 9, and "a.no.ne" on October 30. At the end of 2013, Chu-Z signed with Nippon Columbia to make their major label debut. [2]

They released their major debut album, Chu-Z My Music, on July 9, 2014. [3] Their first major single, "Boombastic!" was released on October 1. [4] Their second major single, the double A-side "Hana no Arch / Brand Boy", was released on February 11, 2015, [5] followed by their third major single, "Tell me why Umarete Kita Imi wo Shiritai", on July 1. [6]

2016–2019: Label changes

They released their second major album, Chu-Z My Selection, on March 9, 2016. [7] Asuka graduated from the group on March 24. [8] On October 2, Mayu and Honomi joined the group. On November 23, they released their fourth major single, the triple A-side "Mada Kimi ga Suki de / Meow! / Keep Me Out Of Heaven", through their new label Imperial Records. [9]

On January 20, 2017, Maia graduated from the group. [10] On March 13, Futaba joined the group. They fifth major single, "Yubiwa no Yukue", was released on June 21.

On February 23, 2018, Honomi went on hiatus. Their sixth major single, "Gonna be alright!", was released on March 21. [11] Honomi left the group on April 3. On June 29, Moe joined the group. On October 3, they released their seventh major single, "Pariro!", through their new label Otodama Records. [12]

On April 24, 2019, it was announced that a new member: Miyabi and former Tokyo CuteCute members Moeha Nishi and Kanako Kasuga would join the group on May 24. However, Miyabi withdrew from the line-up on May 2. They released their eighth major single, "Baribarinrin", through their new label Victoria Beats on July 9. [13]

2020–2024: Line-up changes and hiatus

On September 27, 2020, Miku graduated from the group and new member Mana joined. Kanako Kasuga graduated on November 18. [14]

Mana withdrew from the group on February 28, 2021. Moe graduated on December 27. Mayu was fired from the group on March 10, 2022, due to a breach of contract.

On August 4, 2024, Chu-Z suspended all group activities. [15]

The track appears in Japanese game, Just Dance Wii U and the only song in Just Dance Wii U which features the original member Akari Hayami.

Beyooooonds, is a Japanese idol girl group that formed in October 2018. They released their debut single, "Megane no Otoko no Ko / Nippon no D・N・A! / Go Waist", on August 7, 2019.

ASP is a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed by WACK in 2021. They debuted with the studio album, Anal Sex Penis, on May 26, 2021.

A reboot of the group, named Shinsei Last Idol (新生ラストアイドル) began activities in September 2023 and was later renamed My Fav.

"Tsuki to Hoshi ga Odoru Midnight" is the eighth single by the Japanese girl group Hinatazaka46. It was released on October 26, 2022, by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Kyōko Saitō served as the lead performer for the title song for the first time. The single also features the first appearance of the group's fourth generation in their music release.

"Koko ni wa Nai Mono" is a song recorded by Japanese idol girl group Nogizaka46. It was released as the group's thirty-first single on December 7, 2022, through N46Div. and Sony Music Records. First-generation member Asuka Saitō served as her eighth center position of the performance since the latest 2019 single "Sing Out!" and participated as her last single from the group. Its accompanying music video premiered ahead on November 19. Commercially, "Koko ni wa Nai Mono" reached number one on the Oricon Singles Chart and number two on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, and was certified million by Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

Meme Tokyo (ミームトーキョー) is a Japanese girl group formed by Dear Stage in 2019. They debuted with the single, "Melancholic Circus", on December 25, 2019.

Momoe Mori is a Japanese dancer, singer, model, and actress. She is best known as a member of the girl group @onefive, and is a former member of the idol group Sakura Gakuin. She is represented by the talent agency Amuse Inc. and is signed with the record label Avex Trax.

The Dance for Philosophy is a Japanese girl group. Abbreviated as Filonosu, the girl group was formed in 2015.
