Cicada (stylized as CICADA) was a Japanese trip-hop band formed in 2012 and disbanded in March 2019.

History

Cicada formed in late 2012 when band member Tomo Wakabayashi began searching for members of a trip-hop band on the social networking site mixi. The name Cicada comes from the video game Front Mission , which features a mecha called Cicada. [1]

Cicada performed at the Apple Music Festival in 2014. [1]

The band's debut album BED ROOM was released on February 4, 2015 on record label para de casa. [1] Their second album, Formula, was also released by para de casa on November 9, 2016. [2] They later signed with Universal Music Japan. [3]

Cicada broke up in March 2019. [4] Oikawa started a new band called Roomies. [4]

Members

Cicada was initially composed of five members. [1]

Shunsuke Ochi (越智俊介) joined the band in 2017 as bassist, replacing Kimura. [5]

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger is a Japanese television series, the 39th entry of Toei's long-running Super Sentai metaseries, following Ressha Sentai ToQger. It is the third ninja-based Sentai, and the fourth to be based on Japanese mythology and culture and aired from February 22, 2015 to February 7, 2016, replacing Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and was replaced by Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger. The program joining Kamen Rider Drive, and later, Kamen Rider Ghost in the Super Hero Time line-up on TV Asahi affiliate stations, until concluding on February 7, 2016. Ninninger also serves as the 40th anniversary of the franchise. The lead screenwriter for the series is Kento Shimoyama and Kousuke Yamashita serves as the series' composer. Its footage is used for the American Power Rangers season, Power Rangers Ninja Steel and its follow-up season, Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel.

Mafumafu is a Japanese singer. In addition to his solo work, he is a vocalist, lyricist, and composer in the music duo After the Rain formed with fellow utaite singer Soraru. His broad vocal range, spanning well over five octaves, allows him to sing in a high register comparable to some Vocaloid songs; with some covers, he has also adopted the name Manunchan (まぬんちゃん) for his "female persona", who has an even higher voice. His image color is white. His 2D image has a signature appearance of white hair and a barcode on his left cheek. Ongaku is the sixth studio album by Japanese rock band Tokyo Jihen, released on June 9, 2021, through EMI Records. The album was produced by the band and recording engineer Uni Inoue.

Friends (フレンズ) is a Japanese rock band from Tokyo which is signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It began activities in 2015 after members Hirose Hirose and Emi Okamoto made a collaboration; they would later be joined by bassist Ryōhei Nagashima, guitarist Tarō Miura, and drummer Rui Sekiguchi; Hirose would later leave the band in 2021. The band's music has been featured in movies, TV dramas, and anime series such as Hori-san to Miyamura-kun.
