Laguna, officially the Province of Laguna, is a province in the Philippines located in the Calabarzon region in Luzon. Its capital is Santa Cruz while its largest city is the City of Calamba and the province is situated southeast of Metro Manila, south of the province of Rizal, west of Quezon, north of Batangas and east of Cavite. Laguna hugs the southern shores of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the country. As of the 2020 census, the total population of Laguna is 3,382,193. Among all 82 provinces in the Philippines, Laguna accounted for the largest share (5%) of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) with a total of Php 990.69 billion in 2022.

The Colegio de San Juan de Letran, also referred to by its acronym CSJL, is a private Catholic coeducational basic and higher education institution owned and run by the friars of the Order of Preachers in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1620. Colegio de San Juan de Letran has the distinction of being the oldest college in the Philippines and the oldest secondary institution in Asia. The school has produced Philippine presidents, revolutionary heroes, poets, legislators, members of the clergy, jurists, and it is also one of the only Philippine schools that has produced several Catholic saints who lived and studied on its campus. The school's patron saint is St. John the Baptist. The campus contains two statues, representing the two foremost alumni in the fields of secular and religious service: former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon and Vietnamese Saint Vicente Liem de la Paz.

Mount Makiling is an inactive stratovolcano located in the provinces of Laguna and Batangas on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The mountain rises to an elevation of 1,090 meters (3,580 ft) above mean sea level and is the highest feature of the Laguna Volcanic Field. The volcano has no recorded historic eruption but volcanism is still evident through geothermal features like mud spring and hot springs. South of the mountain is the Makiling–Banahaw Geothermal Plant. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) classifies the volcano as "Inactive".

Joaquin Montañano Chipeco Jr., commonly known as Jun Chipeco, is a Filipino lawyer, politician, public administrator, civic leader, and realtor who last served representative of the Lone District of Calamba. He also served as mayor of Calamba from 2004 to 2013, representative of the 2nd District of Laguna from 1987 to 1992, 1995 to 2004, and 2013 to 2019, vice governor of Laguna from 1986 to 1987, and provincial board member from 1971 to 1986. He greatly contributed to improving education, health, and infrastructure in his city. During his tenure, the city was chosen as the regional development center of the Calabarzon Region. During his term, the City College of Calamba, the new City Hall of Calamba for Mayor Lajara's term, the Pamilihang Panlungsod ng Calamba and the Calamba Recreational and Institutional Complex were established. He is the second member of the Chipeco family involved in politics.
Laguna College of Business and Arts (LCBA), formerly known as the Laguna Institute, is a private non-sectarian school in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. The campus was established in June 1930, as the first secondary school in Calamba.
Calamba station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Laguna, Philippines. It is one of two railway stations in the city and it is a major station on the line, serving as the junction between the South Main Line and the old Calamba–Batangas branch line which used to connect to Batangas City. It is also envisioned to be the terminus of the Commuter Express when rehabilitation work is complete. The station was first opened on January 24, 1909.
