City of Heroes is the second studio album by the melodic rock / heavy metal duet project Kiske/Somerville. The album features the collaboration between vocalist Michael Kiske (Helloween, Unisonic, Place Vendome) and American singer Amanda Somerville (Aina, HDK, Trillium). It was released on 17 April 2015 in Europe and on 21 April 2015 in North America. [1]
The album features Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner) and Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear) handling most of the songwriting, with one contribution from Sander Gommans (ex-After Forever) and Amanda Somerville. Veronika Lukesova is in charge of the drumming and Mat Sinner handle the production. Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered the album. City of Heroes charted at No. 41 in the official German album charts.
Two music videos were filmed for the songs "City Of Heroes" and "Walk On Water" in Nuremberg, Germany. Joining Kiske and Somerville for the shoot were bassist and composer Mat Sinner, guitarist, keyboardist and composer Magnus Karlsson and drummer Veronika Lukesova. The clips were directed by Martin Mueller. [2]
All tracks are written by Mat Sinner and Magnus Karlsson, except "Breaking Neptune" by Amanda Somerville and Sander Gommans.

Michael Kiske is a German singer who is the co-lead vocalist for the power metal band Helloween. Kiske has also released four solo albums, two albums with the hard rock band Unisonic, has participated on various metal and rock related projects such as Avantasia, Place Vendome and Kiske/Somerville, and has performed with numerous bands as a guest vocalist.
Primal Fear is a German power metal band formed in 1997 by Ralf Scheepers and Mat Sinner. Sinner and Scheepers formed the band after Scheepers was not hired as Rob Halford's replacement in Judas Priest.
Sander Gommans is a Dutch musician and songwriter. He founded the symphonic metal band Apocalypse with Mark Jansen in 1995, which later changed its name to After Forever. He played guitar and performed the vocal grunting parts in the band. He managed the band and was the main writer of After Forever's music.
Amanda Somerville is an American singer-songwriter and vocal coach who resides in Wolfsburg, Germany. She is known primarily for her work with many European symphonic metal bands.
