Clinidium bechyneorum

Clinidium bechyneorum is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. [2] It was described by R.T. Bell & J.R. Bell in 1985. [1] [2] It is known from its type locality in Carabobo, northern Venezuela. An additional specimen that might represent a distinct species is from the neighboring Aragua state. The species is named for J. Bechyne and B. Bechyne, collectors of the type series and many other Clinidium specimens. [1]

Clinidium bechyneorum measure 5.5–6 mm (0.22–0.24 in) in length. [1]

It is named after the entomologist Gonzalo Halffter, the co-collector of the type series. The type locality is Amates in southern Veracruz, Mexico, near the Gulf of Mexico at a low elevation. Males in the type series measure 6.1–6.5 mm (0.24–0.26 in) in length.

It is known from the Oaxaca state, Mexico. Specimens in the type series measure 6.2–8 mm (0.24–0.31 in) in length.

Clinidium jolyi is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by R.T. & J.R. Bell in 1985. Clinidium cavicolle is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1873. It is known from Colombia; there is an uncertain record from Brazil too. There is uncertainty as regards to the origin of the type specimen(s) as the original label refers to "Nova-Grenata, Bogoto", probably referring to Bogota. What is now designated as the lectotype is from Ocaña, Norte de Santander. The other syntype, probably of "the other sex", matches Chevrolat's description less well and was described in 1985 as Clinidium humile.

Clinidium extrarium is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Rhysodinae. It was described by R.T. & J.R. Bell in 1978. The type series originates from "N. Amerika"; the specific locality is unknown but likely was in the tropical lowlands of Mexico or northern Central America.
