Clinton Liberty (born 4 June 1998) is an Irish actor and dancer. [1] He is known for his role in the ITV series Holding (2022).

Early life

Liberty grew up in Laytown, County Meath. [2] He is of Nigerian descent. [3] [4] Liberty attended Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh and then Coláiste na hInse in Bettystown. [5] He was a member of the dance club Fit Kids/Fit Teens and danced competitively. He went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin in 2019. [6]

Career

With his background in dance, Liberty made his onscreen debut as a dancer in the 2016 coming-of-age film Handsome Devil . On stage, he starred in the 2019 productions of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing with the Rough Magic Theatre Company and The Anvil in Manchester, England. [7] He then landed a recurring role as in the miniseries Normal People , an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sally Rooney, as Connell's school friend Kiernan.

The following year, Liberty joined the main cast of the Viaplay spy thriller Red Election as Marcus and made a guest appearance in the RTÉ One series Smother . In 2022, he starred as Linus Dunne alongside Conleth Hill in the ITV adaptation of Graham Norton's debut novel Holding [8] and appeared in the Sky Cinema film This Christmas .

Liberty has an upcoming role in the horror film Feed alongside Daisy Jelley and Niamh McCormack. [9] [10] In April 2023, it was rumoured Liberty had joined the cast of the HBO fantasy series House of the Dragon for its second season in an undisclosed role. [11]

Fresh is a 2022 American horror thriller film directed by Mimi Cave, in her directorial debut, from a screenplay by Lauryn Kahn. The film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan. It is a co-production between Legendary Pictures and Hyperobject Industries; Adam McKay produced the film alongside Kevin J. Messick. Holding is a four-part television series based on the debut novel of the same name by Graham Norton. It premiered on ITV on 14 March 2022 and on Virgin Media More in Ireland on 12 April 2022.
