On May 22, 2021, Reed was placed on the 60-day injured list with left thumb weakness. [11] He underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome on June 2, which ended his season. [12] In 12 games in 2021, Reed recorded a 3.72 ERA with 7 strikeouts in 9+23 innings of work. On November 5, Reed was outrighted off of the 40-man roster and elected free agency. [13]

On March 15, 2022, Reed re-signed with the Rays organization on a minor league contract. [14] He split the season between the rookie–level Florida Complex League Rays and Double–A Montgomery Biscuits, accumulating a 5–0 record and 5.29 ERA with 17 strikeouts across 13 total appearances. Reed elected free agency following the season on November 10. [15]

Olmecas de Tabasco

On April 26, 2024, Reed signed with the Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League. [16] In 26 games 19.2 innings of relief he went 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA with 9 strikeouts.
