Cole Thornhart is a fictional character from the American daytime dramas One Life to Live and General Hospital .
Cole was portrayed by Brandon Buddy from October 10, 2006, to November 10, 2010. In October 2011, it was announced that Buddy would return as Cole. However, he taped for only one day before leaving for undisclosed personal reasons. [1] On November 1, 2011, it was announced that Van Hughes would take over the role of Cole. [2] He played Cole from January 3, 2012, to January 13, 2012. On January 30, 2012, it was announced that Hughes would temporarily reprise his role of Cole to help usher in Alderson's Starr Manning to General Hospital . [3]
When asked about the possibility of bringing back Cole or Hope to the new online reboot of One Life to Live, executive producer Jennifer Pepperman had the following to say:
Cole Thornhart was born off-screen to Patrick Thornhart and Marty Saybrooke. Patrick and Marty lived in Ireland briefly with newborn Cole before relocating to San Diego. However, on Christmas 2005, Patrick was purportedly killed. Marty decided to move back to Llanview with Cole in September 2006.

In 1998, Starr was rapidly aged when young actress Kristen Alderson debuted in the childhood role, which retconned the character's birth year to 1992. Following the cancellation of One Life to Live and its conclusion in 2012, Alderson carried the role over to ABC's last remaining soap opera, General Hospital, winning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for the portrayal in 2013. Smith in September 1992, and she remained on the show through the original television finale on January 13, 2012. Smith reprised the role when new regular episodes of OLTL began airing on Hulu, iTunes, and FX Canada via The Online Network in April 2013. General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini announced in January 2017 that Smith would crossover the role of Nora to General Hospital. Smith first appeared on March 6, 2017, and reappeared in November of the same year. In 2019, Smith once again reprised her role as Nora on General Hospital from April 1 to April 16 of that year.

Haskell later returned as Marty on June 11, 2008, and left on June 6, 2011.

Duke Lavery is a fictional character from General Hospital, an American soap opera on the ABC network, primarily portrayed by Ian Buchanan. The role was created by executive producer Gloria Monty and co-head writer Norma Monty. Duke is introduced as the mysterious owner of a local night club who falls in love with police chief Anna Devane. Unbeknownst to the rest of Port Charles, Duke is laundering money for the mob but when his criminal ties cost him Anna, he teams with her ex-husband Robert Scorpio to bring down the mob. Duke and Anna's romance becomes quite popular among fans achieving supercouple status and rivaling Anna's romance with Robert. In 1988, Duke's feud with the Jerome crime family leads to Anna miscarrying their unborn child. Duke and Anna's story comes to a tragic end in 1989 when Duke is presumed dead. The producers would recast the role with Greg Beecroft as Jonathan Paget who was revealed to be Duke with plastic surgery only for the character to be killed off in 1990 – dying in Anna's arms due fan disapproval.
