Colin Griffin (born 3 August 1982) is an Irish race walker who has competed in the Olympics.
Griffin is a race walker [1] who competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games in the 50k walk. [2] [3]
Griffin spent a good number of years training in Limerick and Saluzzo, Italy. He coaches fellow County Leitrim athlete and Olympian Laura Reynolds who now does MMA. He is director of the Altitude Centre Ireland, a company that specialises in altitude training and simulated altitude equipment. [n 1]
He returned home from an altitude training camp high in Sierra Nevada in Spain to win Athletics Ireland 10 km walk. It was his first national 10 km track title, winning in a time of 41.47.66 at Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin. [4]
Griffin was disqualified at the 38 km mark at the 2012 Olympics while he was in contention for a top 16 performance and a personal best time by several minutes. However, that same day Laura Reynolds, who he had coached, finished 20th in the women's 20 km walk in her first Olympic Games. [5]
Morton Stadium, or the National Athletics Stadium, is an athletics stadium in Santry Demesne, Santry in Ireland. Often called Santry Stadium, it is the centre for athletics events in Dublin city and the home track of Clonliffe Harriers. It has also been the home ground for several Irish association football clubs including Shamrock Rovers and Dublin City. The modern capacity of the ground is 8,800, with a single 800-seat covered stand.
Sergey Alexandrovich Kirdyapkin is a Russian race walker. He was stripped of the 2012 Olympic gold medal in the 50K walk, by decision of the Court of Arbitration published 24 March 2016, due to doping violations. Due to these doping violations, he was given a three-year-and-two-month ban from athletic competition, backdated to 15 October 2012, allowing him time to still qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics. However, Russia did not compete in athletics at the 2016 Olympics, due to the suspension of the governing body, the IAAF, due to widespread doping.

On January 22, 2012, he qualified to represent the U.S. in the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 50km racewalk. In the Olympics, Nunn finished in 42nd place in a personal best time of 4:03:28.
Gurmeet Singh is an Indian athlete who competes in the 20 kilometres race walk event. He is a current Indian record holder in the 20 km race walk, which he set in the Indian Grand Prix I in Patiala in May 2011. Gurmeet is sponsored by the Mittal Champions Trust, an initiative run by steel magnate Lakshmi N. Mittal. He is one of the three Indian athletes who qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in 20 km race walk event with an 'A' qualification standard (1:22:30). He achieved this berth in the 18th Dublin International Grand Prix in Ireland after finishing sixth with a time of 1:22:05.

Bo Andreas Gustafsson is a Swedish race walker. He has represented his country at the World Championship in Athletics on four occasions. He qualified for 2 Olympics by making the IAAF standard B in 2008 and IAAF standard A in 2012, but was not selected on the Swedish Olympic Team. His highest accomplishment is a 20th-place finish at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany. He was also 12th at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona and 21st at the 2011 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
Evan Dunfee is a Canadian race walker and Olympian. An Olympic and World medallist, Dunfee first set the Canadian record in the 50 kilometres race walk at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he placed fourth. He went on to win bronze medals at the 2019 World Athletics Championships and the 2020 Summer Olympics, both of those the last time the 50 km was to be featured as an event.

Klavdiya Afanasyeva is a Russian racewalker. She won gold medals in the European U20 and U23 championships in the 10,000 m race walk and 20 km race walk respectively. Though she has never tested positive for an anti-doping violation, in May 2018 she was suspended from international competition due to participating in a training camp including banned coach Viktor Chegin.
