Collette Roche is the Chief Operating Officer at Manchester United. She held a number of senior HR positions at large companies before becoming one of the small number of women who hold boardroom roles [ citation needed ] with Premier League football teams. [1] In 2018, she was listed by Vogue as one of the 25 "most influential women working in Britain".

Career

Roche grew up in Lancashire, and attended Lancaster University, graduating from BBA Management with German in 1997. [2] [3] After her studies, she took up a role in employee relations at Ford Motor Company in Dagenham, as part of the company's HR graduate scheme. [4] In 1999, she moved to Siemens, where she was a HR executive, then in 2002 she became a HR Manager for commercial and international business at United Utilities. [4] [5] After seven years at United Utilities, Roche joined Manchester Airports Group, holding positions as chief of staff and acting managing director. [6] [7] [8] [2]

In spring 2018, Roche was appointed Chief Operating Officer at Manchester United. [9] [8] She is also currently a board member of Northern Powerhouse and a non-executive director at JW Lees Brewery. [2] [7]

Elaine Marie Welteroth is an American journalist, editor, author, and television host. In April 2016, Welteroth was named editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, making her the second person of African-American heritage in Condé Nast's 107-year history to hold such a title. Her promotion to editor at age 29 makes her the second youngest editor in Condé Nast history, behind former Teen Vogue EIC Lindsay Peoples Wagner who was 28 when she started in the role in Condé Nast. When she became beauty director of Teen Vogue in 2012, Welteroth was the first person of African-American heritage to serve in the role. She is credited for the notable increase of Teen Vogue coverage of politics and social justice, encouraging readers to become civically engaged, specifically during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Under Welteroth's leadership of Teen Vogue's shifting format, the magazine developed its first YouTube channel, featuring content on diverse subjects from campus style to cultural appropriation.
