The Comana Natural Park (Romanian : Parcul Natural Comana) is a protected area (natural park category V IUCN) situated in Romania, in the administrative territory of Giurgiu County. [4]
The park is roughly a 45-minute drive from the Romanian capital of Bucharest. The park was established in 2004 and has recreational activities such as kayaking, [5]
Comana is a commune in Giurgiu County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Comana, Vlad Țepeș, Budeni, Falaștoaca, and Grădiștea. The commune is approximately 32 km (20 mi) south of Bucharest.
The Iron Gates Natural Park is a 115,666-hectare (285,820-acre) natural park located in southwestern Romania. The conservation park was proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 in 2006 on the basis that some existing crown land 'should be protected and preserved for the purpose of conserving any wildlife and the natural features of the land'. Parts of the conservation park have been subject to protection since 20 April 1995. The conservation park is classified as an IUCN Category III protected area.
