Dance-pop is a popular music subgenre that originated in the early 1980s. It is generally uptempo music intended for nightclubs with the intention of being danceable but also suitable for contemporary hit radio. Developing from a combination of dance and pop with influences of disco, post-disco and synth-pop, it is generally characterised by strong beats with easy, uncomplicated song structures which are generally more similar to pop music than the more free-form dance genre, with an emphasis on melody as well as catchy tunes. The genre, on the whole, tends to be producer-driven, despite some notable exceptions.

It was released on June 11, 2002, by Columbia Records as the lead single from the soundtrack album to the film Austin Powers in Goldmember, in which Beyoncé stars as Foxxy Cleopatra. Mark Landon better known by his stage name M-Phazes, is a producer and artist from Gold Coast, Queensland. He is best known for his production work with artists such as Demi Lovato, Eminem, Madonna, Daniel Johns, Amy Shark, KYLE, Alison Wonderland, Ruel and Illy. In 2017, Landon moved to Los Angeles, California to further his musical career.

The song was released in New Zealand and Australia on 15 August 2011 as the third single from the album. The single peaked at number 98 on the Australian Singles Chart. It also came #52 in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2011.
"Warrior" is a song by New Zealand singer Kimbra, featuring Mark Foster of the American indie pop band Foster the People and Canadian electro house DJ A-Trak. The song was written as a part of "Three Artists, One Song", an annual series by shoe company Converse. The song was initially released as a free download in the "Three Artists, One Song" website. The song was later included in international and special editions of Kimbra's debut studio album, Vows. "Warrior" was released as the fourth single from Vows on 4 May 2012. The song peaked #22 on the New Zealand RIANZ charts, and peaked #1 on the New Zealand NZ Artists RIANZ charts.

"A Deeper Love" is a 1991 single written by Robert Clivillés and David Cole, and performed by Clivillés & Cole, featuring vocals by Deborah Cooper and Paul Pesco. The song was the duo's fifth number one on the US dance chart. On other US charts, "A Deeper Love" peaked at number 83 on the soul singles chart and number 44 on the pop chart. Overseas, especially in Europe the single charted higher, going to number 15 in the UK and number 8 on the Dutch Top 40.
"Crazy Stupid Love" is a song recorded by British singer Cheryl Cole for her fourth studio album Only Human (2014), featuring British urban artist Tinie Tempah. The song was co-written by Cole, Tempah, Wayne Wilkins, Heidi Rojas, and singer-songwriter Katelyn Tarver and Kevin Anyaeji, and produced by Wilkins. It was released on 18 July 2014 as the lead single from the album. "Crazy Stupid Love" is a pop and R&B song with saxophones, handclaps, percussion and fingersnaps. Lyrically, the song talks about being uncontrollably in love with someone.
"Spark the Fire" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani. The song was released on December 1, 2014. It was originally intended to be featured on Stefani's third studio album This Is What the Truth Feels Like, but it was scrapped in favor of new material. Stefani wrote "Spark the Fire" in collaboration with the song's producer Pharrell Williams. It is a dance-pop and hip hop track that incorporates funk. Along with the previous single, "Baby Don't Lie", the track was marketed as Stefani's musical comeback as a solo artist.

Flint Eastwood is an alt pop project from Detroit, Michigan formed by singer/songwriter Jax Anderson. The project was formed in 2010 with two different names, and then as Flint Eastwood in 2012, by Jax and her brother Seth Anderson, a.k.a. Syblyng. Their music style is often described as "spaghetti western inspired".
