Andhra Pradesh is a state in the southern coastal region of India. It is the seventh-largest state with an area of 162,970 km2 (62,920 sq mi) and tenth-most-populous state, with 49,577,103 inhabitants. It has shared borders with Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and the Bay of Bengal. It has the second-longest coastline in India of about 974 km (605 mi). After existence as Andhra state and unified Andhra Pradesh, the state took its present form on 2 June 2014, when the new state Telangana was formed through bifurcation. Amaravati serves as the capital of the state with the largest city being Visakhapatnam. Water sharing disputes and assets division with Telangana are not yet resolved. Telugu, one of the classical languages of India used by the majority of people, is the first official language.

Archbishop Samineni Arulappa, also known as S Arulappa, was an Indian Catholic clergyman who served as the Archbishop of Hyderabad from December 1971 through January 2000. The youngest priest to be consecrated to such a high office, he was also the longest-serving Catholic archbishop in India. His brother Venkataiah is also a freedom fighter.

The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Smriti Vanam or the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Park is a monument under-construction dedicated to B. R. Ambedkar, the 20th century Indian polymath, champion of human rights and the Drafting Chairman of the Indian Constitution. The memorial will be located Vijayawada in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The height of the statue of Ambedkar will be 125 feet (38 m). This Ambedkar statue will be installed on an 80 feet high base, which will make the total height of the statue 205 feet.
