Connor Idun (born 29 July 2000) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Early life

Connor Idun was born in London to an Australian mother and a father from Ghana [1] and was raised in Essex to the age of 4. [2]

As a child he moved with his family from London to Sydney before relocating to Geelong in Victoria. [3]

He began playing Australian rules football at the age of 12 in Geelong for Drysdale Football Club juniors and completed his VCE at Christian College. [3] He played two seasons of NAB League for the Geelong Falcons primarily in defence before being selected to represent Victoria Country at the 2018 NAB AFL U18 Championships. [3]

AFL career

Idun was selected by the Greater Western Sydney Giants at pick No. 61 in the 2018 AFL national draft. [4] He made his senior debut against Sydney in round 20 of the 2019 season, as a late replacement for injured forward Jeremy Cameron. [5] [6] He only managed three games across his first two years before being selected in round one, 2021 and going on to play 21 out of a possible 22 games, averaging 5.4 marks and 12.6 disposals per game. He was named the NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for round 23 of the 2021 season. [7]

Jesse Hogan is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL). A key forward, Hogan is 1.95 metres tall and weighs 100 kilograms (220 lb). He was a standout basketballer and footballer at a young age, representing Western Australia in both sports and played in the West Australian Football League colts competition with the Claremont Football Club. He was rewarded with All-Australian selection as a junior in the 2012 AFL Under 18 Championships and in turn, he was drafted by Melbourne with the second selection in the 2012 mini-draft, meaning he was ineligible to play in the 2013 AFL season. After a back injury ruined his 2014 season, he made his AFL debut in the 2015 season and won the Ron Evans Medal as the AFL Rising Star. In his first two playing years for Melbourne, he was the leading goalkicker in both seasons. The West Coast Eagles are an Australian rules football team based in Perth, Western Australia. Their 2021 season was their 35th season in the Australian Football League (AFL), their eighth season under premiership coach Adam Simpson, and their second season with Luke Shuey as captain. Having finished in the top eight every season since 2015, it was expected that West Coast would do the same in 2021. They won eight of their first thirteen matches, including an unexpected win against Port Adelaide, and a 97-point thrashing by Geelong, placing them seventh on the ladder before their midseason bye. They continued on to lose seven of their remaining nine matches, including a 92-point loss to Sydney, and their first Western Derby loss since 2015, causing them to finish ninth, missing finals.

Conor Stone is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the Giants with the 15th draft pick in the 2020 AFL draft. He made his debut in the 30-point win against Collingwood at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in round four, 2021, in what was the Giants' first match at the ground since the 2019 AFL Grand Final. He wears guernsey number 18, which was vacated by Jeremy Cameron's departure to Geelong during the 2020 off-season.

Tanner Bruhn is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by Greater Western Sydney with the 12th draft pick in the 2020 AFL draft.
