Burst was a Swedish progressive metal band from Kristinehamn, active between 1993 and 2009. They were formed in 1993 by Jesper Liveröd, Linus Jägerskog and Patrik Hultin, with guitarists Robert Reinholdz and Jonas Rydberg joining later. Their label, Relapse Records, labelled them one of Sweden's brightest metal prospects.

The introduction features lyrics which are screamed rather than sang. Aphyxion is a heavy metal band from Denmark formed in 2007 in Ribe The group has released three albums: Earth Entangled in 2014, Aftermath in 2016 and Void in 2019. They played at Wacken Open Air in Germany as the youngest band to ever do so. They were recognized by Metal Hammer UK to be "The saviours of melodic death metal" and "one of the most exciting bands in Europe". On September 2, 2017, they opened for Metallica at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. The show was part of Metallica's WorldWired Tour.

Blood from the Soul is an industrial metal supergroup formed by Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury. The band's debut album, To Spite the Gland That Breeds (1993), featured Embury with Sick of It All vocalist Lou Koller. In 2020, Embury reformed the band with a new line-up, featuring vocalist Jacob Bannon, drummer Dirk Verbeuren and bassist Jesper Liveröd. The band's sophomore record, DSM-5, was released in the same year.
