Albuquerque,also known as ABQ,Burque,and the Duke City,is the most populous city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. David James Schmidly is an American academic administrator and zoologist who served as president of Texas Tech University,Oklahoma State University,and the University of New Mexico. Since January 2017,the Mercury Messenger has featured Price's online column of politics and the environment. Price has taught off and on since 1976 in the University of New Mexico's School of Architecture and Planning,and as continuing faculty in the UNM Honors College from 1986 to 2014. His seminars range from the classics in translation to modern poetry,urban studies,and New Mexico's environmental history. He is currently an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Leopold Writing Program. In 2021,he received the New Mexico Literary Arts Gratitude Award "for contributions to the life of the poetry community in New Mexico and the Southwest."

Robert G. Frank is an American academic administrator and faculty member. He was appointed as the fifth dean of the College of Health Related Professions at the University of Florida in 1995. The name of the college changed to the College of Public Health and Health Professions while he was dean. In 2007,he was appointed as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kent State University. He then served as the 21st President of the University of New Mexico from 2012 to 2017.

Scholes Hall is the historic administration building of the University of New Mexico,located on the main campus in Albuquerque. It was the first of many buildings designed for the university by Santa Fe architect John Gaw Meem,who helped to cement the Pueblo Revival style as the "official" architecture of the campus. Built in 1934–36 with Public Works Administration funding,it is regarded as one of Meem's most notable designs.

Edl Schamiloglu is an American physicist,electrical engineer,pulsed power expert,inventor,and distinguished professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at the University of New Mexico. He has been known in public media for his expertise in the design and operation of directed-energy weapons. He is also known for his assessment on the possible origins of alleged health damages presumably caused on U.S. embassy personnel in Cuba in 2016 as part of the Havana syndrome incident. He is the associate dean for research and innovation at the UNM School of Engineering,where he has been a faculty since 1988,and where he is also special assistant to the provost for laboratory relations. He is also the founding director of the recently launched UNM Directed Energy Center. Schamiloglu is a book author and co-editor,and has received numerous awards for his academic achievements. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Physical Society. Starting on July 1,2024,Schamiloglu was selected as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science,where he succeeds Steven J. Gitomer who has held that role for over 40 years.
Meeko Mitsuko Karen Oishi is an American engineer and control theorist. She is Gardner Zemke Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico.
