The Constantina Diță-Tomescu Municipal Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Târgu Jiu, Romania. It serves as the home ground of CSM Târgu Jiu. The facility can also be used for a variety of other activities such as track and field and concerts. [1]

The stadium replaced the former Stadionul Tudor Vladimirescu, being named after Wallachian hero Tudor Vladimirescu.

It was opened on 25 October 2019 when Gorj County native Constantina Diță cut the ribbon on new stadium. [2]

In December 2022, the municipality of Târgu Jiu made the decision to rename the stadium, choosing the best performing athlete of the city in the last 100 years - Constantina Diță. [3]

The 2019–20 Liga II was the 80th season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 3 August 2019 and ended on 2 August 2020. A total of 20 teams contested the league. It was the fourth Liga II season with a single series. The season was initially scheduled to be played in a round-robin tournament. The first two teams would be promoted to Liga I at the end of the season and the third-placed team would play a play-off match against the 12th-placed team from Liga I. Oltenia Day is a holiday of Romania celebrated every 21 March that commemorates the entry into Bucharest on 21 March 1821 of the Romanian revolutionary Tudor Vladimirescu, who started the Wallachian uprising of 1821 in Oltenia, where he was born. The holiday was promulgated on 13 April 2017 by Law No. 65/2017 by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis and published in the Monitorul Oficial on the same day. Previously, the project to establish the holiday had been approved by the Senate of Romania on 1 November 2016 and by the Chamber of Deputies of Romania on 21 March 2017. The holiday was first proposed by a group of 27 deputies and senators belonging to different Romanian political parties.
